Not sure if this should be in the have you been affected by Netflix crackdown , apologies if it should be.

I use  Amazon Fire TVs in my household to watch Netflix , Hulu etc

Both Fire TVs are hardwired  and Hulu and Showtime work flawlessly

The last day or so certain programs on Netflix only will only load to 25% then they ask please check your internet connection

I have googled and tried the things that people have mentioned doing  such as flushing Amazon App data then restarting but this does not work as a fix for me

Anybody have any suggestions ?

Have they been updated to the latest Fire OS version?

I have a Fire TV stick that was and it caused havoc for Netflix and Hulu, and flushing the cache, uninstalling the apps did nothing. The only way to fix it was to reset the stick to its factory default and start again.

My Fire TV hasn't been updated yet, but the update was rolling out in stages.

Also, are your DNS settings on the Fire TV or on your router?

We have the same issue watching netflix on ps4. It will begin to play for a few seconds, then go to loading and stop at 25%

You woudn't think it was related to the crackdown as that should stop you watching or loading any of it i would have thought?

25% is where all my devices would stop when I was on vodafone cable, it was purely congestion.

I am using a Fire TV (without the latest firmware that introduces Echo) on a gigabit fibre connection with Unotelly and this happens if I am using ethernet. I was also only playing Netflix and Amazon Instant Video on SD (around 384 kbps). Switched to WiFi 5GHz and everything worked as it should.

This also happened while connected to Vodafone cable before. Tested with different routers, switches, etc.

I haven't tried the hard reset yet but will try. At the moment WiFi is working fine for us.

I started getting VPN error messages with Unblock-us DNS (never had this issue with them), so I started a trial with Unotelly (no VPN errors) and I've been getting this. One would assume this issue is also related to Netflix's new countermeasures?

Quitting and restarting Netflix on a Samsung TV fixes it every 3-4 attempts. I'm on ethernet, my WiFi is awful but I'll see if it helps.

Google DNS and a bunch of others are blocked as per another thread.

Instead of blocking Google DNS et. al try redirecting DNS, per the Unblocking Netflix FAQs thread.

I was having my firetv stop loading at 25% also. If I backed out to the title and reloaded it would start working after 2 or 3 attempts. Am using with UnoTelly. My firetv got the os5 update today. All loading issues fixed. Seems to buffer up to 1080p almost instantly too.

Same here. It is now as good on ethernet as it is on WiFi. Adding to that my Fire TV got the updated OS 5.0.5 with Alexa, etc.

I added Alexa to my fire TV stick last week.  It defaulted all my DNS network settings again.   Took me a little while to figure out what had happened as my normal channels  etc stopped working but no error message  just looped back to the main screen  for that channel when you selected play..
