Consumer seems to be having regular SVOD articles these days. Lightbox *still* using Silverlight? Sigh. Still, that's better than Neon using Flashplayer.

Why they can't / won't use HTML5 is beyond me.

Article is from October last year. I think lightbox isn't using silver light anymore. (Could be wrong - I only use it via PlayStation, don't really see the point in watching on my pc))

Good spotting! The article was posted in the weekly Consumer email just today - recycling now, are we Consumer?!

Lightbox is HTML5 video in Chrome, and works in Linux. I have not used other browsers with Lightbox for a long time.

If I recall correctly Lightbox was using HTML5 even before October in Chrome.

Something that I thought about the other day and could be nice is somewhere that displays what ISP is offering a voucher for an SVOD service - quite often that'll be the value that pushes someone from one ISP to another.

I took a sabbatical at work last year, for three months. Short story I had my Vodafone company plan cancelled and the number returned to my name - so I put it on a Vodafone open term account which gave me a Netflix six months credit. Back to work in three months, put the number back on the corporate plan, but the Netflix credit was an one off, not a monthly thing. As a result I had six months of credit on my Netflix account, result of three months of Vodafone account ;)

Can't complain about that...
