This started yesterday.

My smart apps are set to UK and I access US Netlix via a dns service.  When I try to watch some programmes I get a message that I don't have an internet connection, and yet when I click on other Netflix programmes they play. Sadly most that I want to watch are in the first category.  I can stream BBC iplayer easily via the TV, so it's clearly not an internet problem.  I can access all the US Netflix programmes ok on my laptop.  I set the dns in the modem, and I have not set the dns on the tv.

I can, of course plug my laptop into the tv with an hdmi, but I'd rather use the app.

Any thoughts?

(I've noticed on the xbox that behaviour of the unblocker detection isn't completely consistent - sometimes it triggers as soon as I try to start an episode, other times 1 or 2 episodes play OK then it triggers and I think it triggered once part way through a show.)

Yeah, I just switched off the dns service and the ones that played before are the ones on the NZ service.  Damn, I was enjoying Dogs With Jobs!!

I thought is was odd that my tv was affected but not the laptop, because they are both streaming off the same modem.

Getting similar symptoms here. Content that won't play on my Sammy, which is region coded, will play on my Sony, which isn't region coded. Possibly coincidence, possibly not.

That said, there is some content which shows but won't play on any device. To cap it off, the Chromecast on my Sammy won't accept any Netflix streams.

Yup, I've noticed it happening fairly frequently on xbox, but not had a single issue using the Windows 10 Netflix app on my HTPC - both go through the same router, modem, connection and unblocking service.  I guess it depends on how the app is implemented on your device.
