Just wondering if BBC iPlayer is supported with UnblockUs?  I have signed up for a free trial and have ITV and Channel 4 working, but BBC iPlayer says "something went wrong playing this programme" with error code 02100.

I have a UK roku and have the DNS settings entered in my Airport Extreme.

Any ideas? Thanks for your help

It used to be, when I was on unblock us I used to use BBC via roku. That was probably about 2 months ago.

I'm using a NowTV which comes with iPlayer on on a similar service and it works well.

Thanks.  I contacted technical support last night and after several emails back and forward they have tweaked something at their end and bbc is now working well.

I was under the understanding that BBC iPlayer access would be going bye-bye now that they're demanding proof of a British Television license (140+ pounds by all accounts)?

It's coming but it hasn't happened yet.

As I understand it, the new thing at BBC iPlayer has not been determined yet, perhaps it will end up in you having to confirm that you have a licence (like you have to now to stream live TV from BBC), perhaps you will have to enter your TV licence receipt number and your post code (UK post codes is down to about 8 households) or perhaps the UK government will introduce a law like the one they have in Denmark, where anyone who has a device which can play music or expose TV and which CAN be connected to ANY network – air born (like WiFI or cell phone networks) or cable (antenna, xDSL, fibre etc.) MUST pay a “media licence” which is equivalent to the TV licence, but pay it to the Danish Broadcasting Corporation!

If any of the options other than the receipt- and post code is introduced, it will still be possible to access the signal through e.g. a SmartDNS like Stremr.TV, UnoTelly, Unblock-US etc. – and then the clear choice for me will be Stremr.TV, with their 470+ channels from 22+ countries and working support for the most popular film streaming service in 14 countries!

Hopefully they do nothing until after the olympics. As I'm hoping to be able to watch on there.

I've found BBC iPlayer works if you set the time to UK time on the BOTH the streaming device (Chromecast in my case) and on the TV it's connected to. Everything has to be UK time and time zone. Then it worked.

They'll probably block that soon.....but it worked last time I tried it.

I'll pay the license fee if they'll let me. They have good stuff. I'm happy to pay for it.

If they don't let me buy it then we'll deal with that if it happens. In the usual ways.

Now that's how I feel about all digital media, where I can pay for it I will. If I can pay and they charge too much (US$50 for one season Flash etc) then I don't pay OR find alternate stream, but wait for local TV to catch up. If there is no way for me to pay at all (like iPlayer is currently) I feel 'happy' to work around geoblocks, or as a last extreme, stream 'alternate' sources instead.

Make it viable (and reasonable) and take my money!
