When I go to the Start Your Free trial page it says " Sign up on your device (App store, Google Play, Amazon) or add the channel to your Roku.

 

Yet it states definitively you dont need a subscription of any kind to external companies and you can watch it on your browser.

 

Any help appreciated. Thanks.

Only works in America.  VPN users were slowly shuffled off the service over the course of the last 12 months.

Yup - and posting about work-arounds in a public forum may help them clamp down on users who've found a work-around...
