Looks like its official; cut and paste from Lightbox:

"Some Samsung Smart TVs are currently experiencing an issue which impacts the sound working properly on video on demand apps. Samsung are working to fix this as a high priority as it is affecting all apps and not just the Lightbox app. This isn't affecting the other Smart TV's or compatible devices."

My new TV is a UA40 J6200. Lightbox, 3Now etc are unwatchable due to the lip sync issues. Does not seem to affect the Youtube app though.

Be aware if you are in the market for a new TV, might pay to wait for a bit, or choose another brand.

Seems there are rumors of a patch to fix this problem, Lightbox help page says an update has been released, but my TV will not update, has anyone else had success yet?

Have you been able to confirm if this latest update fixes the issue?  Thanks!

Hi I don't seem to have any issue with lip sync my issue was the tv being sluggish and app functionality issues and all seems resolved.

My TV is now updated to 1454 (UA40J6200) - I had to go to samsung.com/nz, type in that model code and manually download the firmware.

You will need Windows to perform this, as the firmware is delivered via a self extracting executable ...

Note that trying to update via the tv consisted of Samsungs software claiming an unstable Internet connection.

I can confirm that this has resolved both the lipsync on the Samsung with Lightbox and also has solved the "connection failed" in fanpass.

Hope that helps.

Thanks Wazza,

My UA40J6200 still will not update either, so I did as you have done and updated to 1454 via download & usb stick.

Lipsync is vastly improved, but not perfect. The remote control is still incredibly slugglish; there is at times a 1 or 2 second delay before the tv responds to a key press.

I also manually updated to 1454. Early results were positive but lipsync issues have returned on Amazon Video app.

I didn't realise this was a Samsung TV issue! I have been getting seriously annoyed with the Neon TV app, but it now seems it wasn't their fault..

That said, Netflix works fine all the time?

Lip sync / sound issues have improved with the update, but it is far from perfect. It will be alright for a while, then go slightly out of sync again. The issue is not resolved in my case at least.

Which firmware release is that?
