I've been having trouble with my password for Netflix.

I signed up to Netflix using my g-mail address, and a unique password.  However the app keeps rejecting my password.

I think that Netflix is using Google sign in ... which means using the password associated with my g-mail address  ... different from the password I have used for my Netflix account.

Is this possible?

And if yes how can I stop it.  I don't want to use the same password for both.

Something I would like to mention, for Security reason's its not recommended that you use the same password everywhere.

For example I used the same password as my email address password for years, until somewhere I got hacked and my account was used to send spam.

From that point onwards every site/app has their own complex password.

In this instance my having different (complex) passwords appears to be causing the problem ...

Not able to help anymore than saying I use Gmail and Netflix with no issues.

Different passwords for both Netflix & Gmail and can sign in on the  PC, android phone & tablets , Samsung TV app, and Xbox 360  fine.

It sounds like you can sign in on the PC and not on other device(s)?

If you haven't already I'd try resetting my Netflix password on the PC so something else and trying the other device again.

If I log on using the PC (chrome browser) or try to change my password using the PC the password box changes colour and it auto-populates with my gmail password.

No idea why this is happening other than it seems to have something to do with my google login.

Google's chrome auto fill has screwed up for me heaps recently. Was trying to use it instead of LastPass for one browser profile but it seems to have gone nuts on a few occasions.

If it is filling your Gmail password and sending it to other sites then imo it is too much of a security issue to continue with. I only had it deciding to keep saving blank ones for lots of places and use that one over the top of what I'd just typed.

If you have password autofill, disable it and see if it works.

It's not a problem using a gmail address.

If you go into your Chrome settings, then into advanced settings, under Passwords and Forms click Manage Passwords and find your Netflix login in the list. I would suggest deleting it and then either getting it to re-remember the correct details the next time you log in, or logging in and refusing to let it remember them, so that you can manually log in each time.

Thanks I've tried this, will see how I get on.
