By now some of you have heard of the IOC's new digital platform, the Olympic Channel, which was launched during the closing ceremony of this years games in Rio.

Do you have any thoughts on the platform itself?

Looking at the url of the live channel(I wish I could post an example) it looks like it might be powered by a primary rightsholding broadcaster (in my case NBC), and has up to 5 live channels to accommodate events. (I tried the "master.m3u8" but no dice, 403)

Three of the live channels are mirroring the primary live channel, while two of them are a "Signal Loss Detected" screen.

Any VOD content url also appears to be rightsholder based as well.

Can anyone check this out in more detail?

I had a look but didn't sign up or try a video.  Hoping it will come to the roku as a channel.  I used the bbc footage while it was on, it was great to choose a sport and just watch.

The sign-up thing is just for personalizing VOD content, and allows you to set favorite sports or athletes.
