Hi All,my Unotelly annual subscription is up for renewal soon and I was curious as to the current state of the alternatives. I Stream content from NZ, the UK and the US, so need a service that will work for all.

I am aware of the Netflix restrictions and can cope with having to use the NZ catalogue.  So I am not specifically looking for a service that will work with Netflix.

Info on pricing, reliability and service would be appreciated.

In my experience Unotelly is still the best.

I've been using getflix for years. No issues at all. Huge range of US and EU channels to choose from.

Plenty of Geekzone users seem to have been using dns4me.net
I have been using them for 18months - I was a unotelly customer before.
Dns4me is sharply priced and reliable.

I've recently moved from Unotelly to DNS4ME. Unotelly was great, but they ended up removing their detailed Dynamo page which took away the ability to micro-fine tune channel conflicts - for example, if you set your profile to get the Aussie channels you'd lose some of the UK ones, so it was necessary to flick back and forth in the control panel to access them all. DNS4ME is the same, but their channel selector page is still fully accessible. I also couldn't get Aussie channel 9 on Unotelly and now I can get all of them. They even added access to a service for me upon request.

Recently signed up for a lifetime account with Getflix for $39 so have thrown my lot in I guess - main reason is they support Sling TV. PlayStation Vue would be a bonus tho - does DNS4Me support that?

Just went to signup a trial account for DNS4ME and see this:

Netflix - Update - 08/09/2016
Sep 08 2016 - Our Netherlands server has now been blocked, we have disabled the netflix service for all customers, please remove any static routes you have in place to return to your countries version of netflix.

Going forward dns4me, is no longer supporting Netflix as a service, at present our Netherlands server is the only server still functioning with Netflix and once this gets blocked we will not be replacing the servers.
To return to your local Netflix content we recommend unchecking the enable checkbox for the Netflix service in the user console and remove any static routes put into your router.

AFAIK nobody is supporting NF any more, they made it too hard.  If someone is then .. yeah maybe better not say so :)

DNS4Me here, works great, there is even an API to download a hosts file if that's your jam

I would be very curious to know just how much this exercise has cost Netflix, and how much it will cost to keep it going. I assume some will keep probing for weaknesses. Is this something other geoblocked services could emulate, or does it take deep pockets?

An interesting email from Paypal today that Unovation have suspended my automatic payments to them.  I'm not sure if this is a sign of trouble at UnoTelly, or just one of those random billing glitches.  2 months to run on my annual subscription so I'll see what happens in November.

I've given up on Netflix region changing but still watch a lot of BBC and am considering Amazon Prime video - what are the forum's latest views on best unblocking service for these?

My sister got the same from message Unotelly when her monthly auto payment was due - she had to send them a manual credit card payment instead. I suspect their merchant provider may have withdrawn some functions from them because they provide unblocking services. She moved to DNS4ME the following month.

I don't subscribe to Amazon Prime and I never subscribed to Netflix but I have always used Unotelly for everything I do watch, including the BBC, Australian and European channels and it has always worked brilliantly. I trialled DNS4ME but it was less reliable. I do hope this is not the beginning of the end.

That sounds plausible thanks.  I'll monitor the service over the next few months and decide what to do

Guys,

This is old news.

PayPal stopped accepting UnoTelly payments months ago, because as was suggested UnoTelly is providing a service (while not illegal) was breaching PayPal's T&C (in PayPal's view).

But credit card companies are still processing payments for UnoTelly.

I think UT has also introduced other methods for paying them - maybe incl Bit Coin.
