Using Getflix I watched a bit of it using a Firestick and the Fox SportsNow app. It locked onto 1080P pretty much immediately and stayed constant.

But since I am not a fan of either team I only watched the first quarter and then logged out. I did watch a couple of ads which were cute. Apparently while this was the Fox feed, the ads were not quite the same as those broadcast OTA but I have no idea what the differences might have been.

Seeing the result after the game maybe I should have continued to watch :-(

Didn't realise it was on FTA here. I always thought Sky would have the rights. But then I never watch TVNZ channels so I would not have seen any ads for it.

I was surprised as well. I had a look on the off chance as I thought they had it last year. It seems to be about the only sport on TV1!

I did for a bit (1st half).  Great picture....but annoyingly it'd go to a logo for the ads....boooo!!

Also for the first half noticed the the commentary would be followed by the same commentary overlaid with a 5 - 10 second delay...made it unwatchable for me.

I switched back to fox (apple tv 4) at half time, then back to duke for the remainder of the game....the silence ever couple of minutes while they went to an ad break was off putting.

Are you sure it was HD??  It looked soft to me compared to what I have seen on Sky sport channels

I noticed on Fox that after a commercial break there would be a second or two or blank screen before it went back to the live sports. I wonder if that's because they were showing a slightly different commercial stream?

PQ was excellent - certainly 1080P

I'd get the local fox ads advertising shows, only  or unless they missed hitting the "don't show the ads button".  Maybe the vpn/dns service you used changed this experience.  I was on dns4me.

SKY doesn't have the rights to any NFL.

Why watch it on Duke when it was also on TVNZ 1 in HD? The PQ difference between TVNZ 1 and Duke was very noticeable.

I started by watching the Fox Sports (US) stream, but switched to ESPN HD (Aus/NZ) when I realised that the US adverts weren't being shown on the Fox Sports stream. Totally agreed about the silence was off putting.

ESPN (Aus/NZ) took the NFL Network feed (which was different to the Fox / Fox Sports feed), just like TVNZ 1 and Duke did. ESPN also cut away to a party in Sydney during some commercial breaks.

Yes ESPN do for some. Duke has just as many if not more games a week. Only problem is the picture quality is terrible on duke.

Dukes not too bad.  I've seen way worse PQ on SD channels..  Though it would be nice for it to go HD but don't expect it anytime soon based on their Facebook replies when the question is asked..

Did you have an ad blocker on by any chance?  I did but turned it off the first time the Fox Sport logo came up and saw all ads after that.

We watched most of the entire game using Fox Sport Go until the feed was lost during the last quarter.  We switched to TV one until I read on Twitter that the Fox feed was back up.  The picture was excellent and the stream was solid.
