I've been using AlwaysVPN but have run out of bandwidth and discover it stopped operating at the end of December.

Any advice for another VPN where I can buy say 5 or 10 gB and don't have to pay a monthly fee.

Many thanks

I am not expert, but got put onto https://www.privateinternetaccess.com/ Simple to use on-demand basis. Annual subscription is good value I think, but will watch this thread for any other suggestions.  I guess it all depends what you want to use it for.

Thanks, done and dusted. Interesting scenario signing up though. A US dollar amount was put on my credit card which I was to use to verify my account. My bank wasn't able to tell me what the US dollar equivalent was as only the NZ dollar amount was showing while the transaction was still pending. So catch 22. Contacted VPN helpline and they have manually verified me, so pretty impressed with them so far!

I use EarthVPN.  Their yearly plan is the cheapest I've seen, and they have a server in NZ which is great if you are after privacy without too much of a slowdown.

I finally managed to sign up to Private Tunnel - they were very helpful and manually verified my credit card.  BUT I can't get it to work.  Never had any problem downloading using AlwaysVPN, but using Private Tunnel I am able to connect no problem but when trying to download, get the "The site can't be reached" message.  What am I doing wrong?  Do I need to tweak some settings??

I've never had an issue using private tunnel and have been using them for at least 2 years. What are you trying to do, what is telling you this site can't be reach?

I am using it for the same reason as you are, probably.  What region do you connect to?

For downloading  I wouldn't use usa generally Zurich or Amsterdam. I take it your browser is giving the this site can't be reached message ?

Thank you.  Connecting through Amsterdam has worked - pretty slow though.  Tried everything except Amsterdam without any luck.  Many thanks again
