Hi all,

I hope I've posted this question in the correct forum...

Could someone please tell me how I can locate the urls for the live streams for George FM and The Rock radio stations?  I have a few Bose Soundlink products which I use to listen to these stations.  Bose uses vTuner to source all online radio stations available on Soundlink products but a couple of days ago the link to their streams stopped working so I assume Mediaworks changed their streams recently.  The guys at vTuner cannot use the Listen Live link on each of the respective stations homepages as they are now Flash based.

I can still pick up George FM (haven't tried The Rock) on Tunein radio so my logic tells me direct streams must still be available (ok I am guessing!).  The obvious answer is to contact Mediaworks but I can see that being a hassle.

Is there a way to determine them myself?  Any help would be appreciated.  Cheers!

** EDIT - I meant to say Bose Soundtouch products, not Soundlink which are just bluetooth speakers. **

They are activly hiding streams to push people towards the aweful rova app so they can force other content to you and get all the access the app asks for to your devices. I am guessing that makes them more valuable to their customers and a majority of their product will install the app without questioning it.

The Breeze Auckland is gone too... Breeze Chch is still working.

I don't listen to the Breeze, but still.

I'm guessing MWR won't put any resources into helping resolve this as they will be pushing people towards their new app... because, um, radio people.

Interestingly enough, all new audio visual receivers from all brands have moved to TuneIn for 2017... everyone has bailed on vTuner.

Would it be possible to just sniff the traffic and pull put the URL's?

I tried with iHeart.com and a chromecast (so that I could use openhab to poke the URL on a switch, to replace an FM radio), but couldn't get it to go.  The page source had a number of urls available.  Can you do tunein via browser?

possibly something in here http://tunein.com/radio/The-Rock-902-s25248/?streamid=76682025  But unlike iheartradio there's no defined m3u8 file or HLS stream.

I  might try with fiddler

Haha no idea to be honest. I could just envision sniffing the traffic and then analyse it with the likes of wireshark. Surely would be able to pull something out of the requests?

Thank you very much!  I have submitted the above url to vTuner to update (and the George FM one too - found all Mediaworks radio station links here http://icecast.mediaworks.co.nz:8000/).  One really good thing about vTuner is they are very quick to respond and update their links when you ask.

One last request if it is not asking too much, are you able to work out the direct link to the Nu Vibes channel on this website please? https://audiogrooves.net/

Or... is there a resource available that I could learn how to do this myself?

Once again thank you!

So what I did, was start up chrome development tools (hamburger, more tools, developer tools) - Went to the network tab.  Turn on preserve log.   And then go to your URL (audiogrooves.net).

When it starts playing look through all the requests for a type of media.  i think audiogroove is something like soul.ogg for the soul channel.  Right click on it and copy url

I fell foul of this with a Sony system I got a few years ago... such potential utterly lost.

Hope tunein doesnt disappear soon....

it's a pity none of the receivers (as far as I know) allow you to assign a hardware button to a stream, so you can switch like presets on FM.  Having to dive down into menu upon menu seems like a backwards step for usability.
