Hi everyone,

There has recently been a few threads opened wondering why "insert illegal pirate Kodi addon here" is not working. If you've currently got a Kodi addon that allows you free access to pirated movies or TV shows it is not at all legit and posts of this nature will be likely removed + even the user potentially banned as per the FUG. There are however a few legitimate Kodi addon's such as "Freeview TV on Kodi" which are fine.

Rule of thumb - if you're not paying for it and it isn't available by a public means (either a stream from a local TV or Radio station, Netflix, Hulu, Lightbox etc) then ask yourself "is this really legal?" - if in doubt then best not to discuss it around here however feel free to ask one of the mods if you're totally unsure.

Cheers.

Its a very grey area, and who gets to say what add-on is legal/illegal? The mods?

Those non official TVNZ/TV3 add-ons probably fit the definition of illegal/or in the very least against TVNZ/TV3 T&C. yet we discuss them here.

Why not limit Kodi discussions to official add-ons from official Kodi repository only? Then its clear.

Non official Kodi add-on discussions could be limited to the private forums? Even the Kodi forums don't allow discussions of non official add-ons.

My view on this is that bad/illegal add-ons/repositories just end up painting a very bad name for Kodi.

my 2cents.

If the plugin sources the content via torrents then it most certainly shouldn't be discussed here. IANAL and until there's a ruling saying differently, that's how we go.
