Hello,

Our Panasonic TV supports 50hz (and 60hz presumably), should I set the Chromecast 2 to enable 50hz mode? We watch mainly watch Lightbox, Youtube and possibly Netflix with it.

I'm not sure whether content will be unnecessarily converted to 50hz or whether it will happily switch between the two when necessary. Your thoughts please?

I tried it briefly and it seemed to do everything at 50Hz, so the only useful thing at the time was Dr Who and top gear, now just top gear benifiting from it. 60Hz stuff at 50Hz looks worse than the other way around IMO.

Never seems to do 24Hz, so any film stuff comes out at 60 and the TV has to remove the 3:2 pulldown and then do its magic, but it doesnt seem to have terrible frame cadence like when playing on a PC so there are not many errors in the conversion in the TV.

Thank you very much for that. It's a pity that it won't automatically switch between 60hz and 50hz as needed.

I tried 50hz on a family member's (not a premium brand) TV, and the frame-rate on Netflix content looked terrible.
