Hi all,

Sorry if this question has been asked before.

I'm seriously considering signing up to Amazon Prime Video, if only for the reason of the second series of The Grand Tour has now started.

My question is before I sign up, is the Grand Tour season 2 available in NZ on Amazon Prime video?

I'm not, and don't want to, use a VPN. Viewing\using Amazon prime video will be via the Xbox One app as TV is old, non smart TV, and Santa isn't brining me a new smart TV (that's a whole new discussion, as no idea what to get, only thing I've heard is avoid Samsung)

My internet is via Vodafone cable and running with Vodafone standard hardware (HG659 utilising the 2.4ghz band). Xbox One is a wireless connection to the router. Xbox One has line of sight to the router, and is about 3-4 metres from the router. Don't really want to run a cable between router and Xbox One as the gap between them is the doorway\walkway between the open plan living room and lounge. We rent the house, so not drilling of holes to run cables.

If it means anything, YouTube play\streams without issue on the Xbox One.

Yes Grand Tour is available, both seasons. I cant see the point of keeping Amazon Video, other than for that and will be cancelling it when the Grand Tour finishes. Netflix has got lots of good stuff now and they seem to be releasing new programs all the time now.

Where can you find whats actually on Amazon Prime Video for NZ,

They have recently added a few older shows to Amazon prime that i would actually like to see and i would like to make sure that they are available here before i sign up

Also the amazon Channels for extra content, do they work here?

I'm running it through the Xbox One app (got a non smart, not web connected TV). Once the app is installed, you can browse the catalogue without an account before you sign up

Good question - would like to know too.

No, these require a subscription paid with a US-based credit card so won't work here either because of payment method and also because they're geo-restricted.

I can confirm that the catalogue for NZ is tiny... Grand Tour is pretty much all I will be watching.

Once that ends, see ya later.

And don't sign up  for "amazon prime" video... It's just "amazon video" in our regions.

Not sure if this helps but this is what I see on the home page of Prime Video. This is a US account (my daughter's) and I am a family member with access to the content.

Just before Christmas a whole bunch of shows and movies showed up, unsure if it’s due to my DNS I blocker set up, but the shows are showing on all devices not just the ones with different dns set up. So thought I’d ask if anyone can also see the Mr Bean series??

I am pretty sure I saw Mr Bean on Amazon video of the other night and even watched about a minute or so of 1 episode

The Man in the High Castle is the reason I signed up... plus the original series of the Beverley Hillbillies!

FYI I signed up a week ago so the kids (honest) can watch GT.

Sign up was reasonably painless (no geo unblocker or account shenanigans attempted).

Seems to work ok but I get some stuttering on the sony android telly where netflix is almost always flawless. Amazon generally settles down and is quite watchable but blipping the volume up or down a notch will result in stutters for a few seconds.

I tend to watch on a Firestick which I recently upgraded to a 4K Firestick. Not sure if it's cause and effect but withe standard Firestick I hardly ever had buffering but with this 4K one, when watching some channels I am encountering more buffering then before. Maybe it's the Christmas/New Year effect? I am on a 200/20 UFB plan from Bigpipe.

I switched from US -> NZ and suddenly all the content I wanted to watch disappeared. Useless basically.
