ITV Semi Final live stream didn't work today. No problems with iplayer or other itv content, just an error message when trying to stream (using chrome on an iMac). Also note the ESPN website wouldn't even load, so I'm assuming it was a capacity issue due to heavy demand.

Keen to watch the final so wondering if anyone has any advice? Thanks!

The semi final was live on Prime this morning.

And the final will be live on Prime on Monday morning.  No lag, no buffering, no heavy traffic issues.  Broadcast TV is good like that.

Thanks for that - I didn't realise it was live on prime. However we live in an area with no freeview (don't have freesat) and can't justify the price of SKY so rely on streaming. And I'm to complaining - just trying to understand what the issue was!

it was running at home for my wife and son on ITV (Apple tv on Spark).  I don't believe they had any problems, I also had it running on iphone via 2degrees 3g/4g on the way into work (vpn'd to home)  Also no issues.

I only swapped to Sky Go at work as the quality dropped when vpn from work to home (via india for our proxy, then back to the UK)...sky go had a better picture.

Prime remains SD on Freeview.  Prime is only HD on Sky.

I had the same issue with ITV - useless!! Spent most of the first half trying work arounds, and minutes before the end of the first 45, got the crystal clear SBS Live stream going (thanks to another GZ poster for that suggestion the other day)

LOL our expectations in 2018 are so unreasonable.  How dare ITV not work in a country that it's not supposed to work in, using multiple layers of technology to cobble together access?! Bloody ITV!

I've caught up with a few other folks who also had issues with the ITV stream. No complaints though - it's a privilege to be able to get it here, I just like to know if I've done something to cause an issue!

Particularly since the iplayer app on my ATV4 has stopped working too since sometime yesterday....!

I recorded Prime’s coverage on a TiVo so avoided too early a wake-up this morning.

Assuming OP has VPN BBC iPlayer still only have highlights to download (in HD) but full match download will probably be available later tonight - they seem to take a while to release the full downloads but previously they were available by midday.

As other have mentioned, it will be live on Prime. Other options (with a VPN) include SBS on Demand or Optus Sport. Both require sign up, but are free, and in HD (SBS has a few adverts, but none during play)

Watching both ITV and BBC on my Amazon Fire TV (not the latest) was average at best for live coverage - however switching over to the iPad the ITV Hub worked very smoothly.  That said, I watched the last two England games in a bar in Wellington (yes I got up at 4am so that I could get the train).

Time to catch up on my sleep.

Watching the match was a disappointing experience for me this morning.

Nothing to do with ITV Hub which worked fine on a Fire TV(Gen2) via dns4me, though. frown

Oh well. Try again in four years time.
