I'm exploring Tidal for the high quality files it streams.

However it's driving me nuts. For some reason it will not just play an album from start to finish. It seems to be stuck on some kind of permanent shuffle from whatever is in your collection, so you might select Steely Dan expecting to hear all the tracks on Pretzel Logic, only to get Sade after the first track ends.

It's maddening and I can't find out how to make it cease and desist!

Can anyone solve it?

I'm using Android and Mac.

I gave up on it, no gapless when casting etc was a total let down, and I found that it was frequently having the chromecast playing on when the phone had lost control of it. Then they had the claims of fraudulant streams for the artists that own it and I thought that was just total BS.

I did briefly see an extreme option pop up in the spotify android app, and I read somewhere they were going to be doing higher quality at some stage.

And the masters thing on tidal seemed to be total BS when I listened to some of them, if anything the non masters one sounded better to me on desktop and no difference on chromecast.

Master quality is only available on desktop...

But yeah, it's frustrating that they haven't nailed the technical side of the service.

I like the video content side of things, I find 'most' of the music I like, but still I prefer to own the music and stream it over my own network or play it off my phone / computer. Streaming services always seem to let me down.

To my ear, the hi fi quality streams are better than Apple Music.

However, the simple ability to play an album from start to finish without messing about with playlists seems a blinding omission, if indeed it is an omission rather than me just not setting it correctly.
