I would like to find some (English language) TV feeds with (English language) subtitles/captions. As a teching aid for ESOL.

TVNZ 1, TVNZ 2, Three (not sure about ThreeLife and Bravo, don't watch those) and Prime TV all offer captions on selected programs. Sky TV also provide captions where the caption is provided as part of the feed (mainly overseas based channels).

Sorry to be a bit ignorant here, but how do I find which ones are captioned and how (presumably) do I turn them on and off?

For others, that haven't found it :)

Captioned programs are usually listed in a tv guide or the Able NZ website. Programs that are captioned also display a slashed ear logo at the start of the show. The Able NZ site also has the instructions on how to turn captioning on and off, but most freeview boxes/tv should have a caption or sub title button. On Sky remotes, press the Yellow button.
