I’m watching sky go on my laptop, watching cricket. The commentary is smooth but the picture jumpy. No buffering but looks like it’s playing at 1.5 speed at times.

Any ideas?

Do you have a tablet? I use an iPad, and its fine. In other past threads thats been the confusion. I assume as an app has less demands than a browser. Just like a console vs a PC, a PC has a lot of other things to do and manage, same with an app, it avoids all that

Narr I'm using a laptop, I can't find any specs required to play it for a laptop.

Is sky more demanding? I stream other media with no issues. It's really annoying. I have another laptop but no HDMI port. I'm trying to play this on a TV

I would have thought the vulgar image quality would put most anyone off wanting SkyGo on a TV.

Sky Go is for on the go, not a TV. On a tablet its fine, blow a 9 inch tablet to 60 inches, not the intended use case

Incorrect.

Sky Go is designed for desktop/laptop PC as well. That's hardly on the Go.

This issue also seems to be an issue with my Laptop Specs vs screen size, as I don't have this issue with a PC and my laptop has the same issue when not plugged in.

Sky go looks terrible for me on various laptops/desktops as well but looks great via their app on my phone.

I have just accepted it.

Another annoying feature is regular "Are you still watching" message.

Has sky made any comment about their quality of the streaming service? i.e any future upgrades/ improvements or even acknowledged it's crap?

It's meant to be crap by design.

It's a free add-on product, they don't really have an incentive to make it better. Compared to say FANPASS which is HD and people pay money for.

I'd say a massive decline in subscribers and a move to on-demand and mobile entertainment would be enough of an incentive.

Might I suggest you stop using SkyGo, join the other subscribers that have left and feedback that your termination is because you are unhappy with the quality of the free add-on that they call SkyGo. Unless you vote with your feet they won't get your message.

Alternatively you could insist that you use the stb to watch the cricket and force whoever is using the stb to watch their content via SkyGo.

Is a single digit % over a few years massive? How does profit compare to others in NZ?
