Apsattv:

For their webstream it will depend on the device and browser in use

mhm seems to work alot better now for some reason...

the streams are quite interesting in how they handle on my load balancing, it's a 7mbit stream at 1080 but it buffers and jumps between lines.

Overall, i feel the encoding quality could do with a slightly slower encode on it.

Wonder how well it will sustain..

The one thing Māori TV is missing is Chromecast support for their on demand content via the app. Mediaworks (ThreeNow), TVNZ and Choice/HG TV all have this functionality.

@Rikkitic your link is a bit screwy. It wants to save a file to my Mac

Contains the playlist file. Some players can fetch from a local or online URL which should keep updatd as from time to time I add or remove content. On your MAC you will need compatible player.

If you open the .m3u in any text editor you will see its just a text file. Nothing sinister

The list has only been tested here in KODI but should be compatible with other apps and devices.

Please note all streams used are from the legitimate owners official streams. I have only compiled them into a playlist format for ease of use.

I use Kodi. IPTV Simple Client allows you to use either files or URLs as the source. I prefer files because I can rearrange and edit them to better suit my requirements.

I have been playing with these streams today on Kodi 17.6 IPTV simple client but results are pretty mixed. I can't get Maori TV to even appear on the Guide. Most of the Pluto streams are weird. Some play briefly then the video freezes when the stream switches to ads, or stops working in other ways. Most streams are too intermittent or unreliable to be watchable. Other streams, such as those from Australia or NZ, work normally.

I was playing with the playlist last night doing some updating and tweaking of the Chinese channels

Can you give me a list of some of the pluto ones that were not working or having issues?

I have had problems with most Pluto channels, though not others. Some never load. Some freeze after a few moments. Some load with a still image and never play. I need more time to give a better report. The cat channel seems to work best, though even it freezes at times but unlike others it usually recovers. Sometimes I get buffering, but not on non-Pluto channels. When a channel plays but then freezes, this may be related to the commercials. I have an impression (don't really know) that the stream switches to load the commercial but then locks up. After that it never resumes. I have to restart.

I have had this issue with movies and classics as well as others. Sometimes they don't load at all, other times they play for a short time before locking up. I will look into this some more tomorrow and give you more details.

Last night I was watching MSNBC on your Pluto stream. It worked okay for an hour or so. Every time it switched between the program and an ad, the video would stop while the audio continued normally. At first this was barely noticeable but every time there was an ad the video delay would increase slightly. A frame would freeze and continue as a static image while the audio played normally. Eventually the video would start playing normally again. Finally, after more than an hour, everything completely froze, both video and audio and I just got a blank screen. This also locked Kodi and I couldn't exit or get any response to the controls. By then I was tired and just pulled the power to go to sleep.

Someone else also tried one of the Pluto streams on the Shield in another room but couldn't get anything. It just froze and the power had to be cut. I don't know what stream it was but that has also happened to me.

@Apsattv: I have spent a quite a lot of time playing with the Pluto links over the past few days. All, or nearly all, have issues of some kind when streamed with IPTV simple client. I have tried this with Kodi on Android, Android TV, Windows 7 and Windows 10. The Windows versions, especially Windows 10, seem to work better than the Android ones, but all have problems. A few links never load and a few of those don’t time out, but lock the device with an endless loading circle that can’t be exited, forcing a hard reset. Some start with a static image and freeze but they can be exited. Many streams do play, but have problems when commercial breaks start. Sometimes the streams freeze and have to be manually restarted. Sometimes there are other issues. I have not been able to get a single Pluto stream to work well enough on Kodi or Android to be able to watch it without interruption of some kind.

However, all of the streams in your list seem to play perfectly well when played in Chrome with the HLS extension. There are no problems at all. I haven’t tried VLC or other players but I imagine they would also work there. The issues I am seeing appear to be specific to Kodi or the IPTV simple player add-on. I don’t have any problems playing other streams, only the Pluto ones. I don’t know what is causing this but maybe this information is helpful anyway.
