Having signed up for the 99c/month Hulu deal I noticed that for some devices Hulu offers 5.1 audio (DD+) but on selected devices. The list includes

I was watching on a Fire TV stick regular and didn't get it but when I moved to my other HT system with the Fire TV Stick 4K the DD+ light came on the AVR. Nice.

I wonder why they are so selective.  Netflix offers 5.1 audio on most of their devices from what I can tell.

It's annoying... right?

I watch Hulu on my Apple TV and there's no 5.1 love there, I find the XBox One interface unreliable...

I see Chromecast is included but my Chromecast is connected to my TV directly so that doesn't work. And to plumb it into the AVR is more hassle. Luckily I took advantage of an Amazon after Black Friday deal to pick a 4K Firestick for US$34 so that will solve the problem in my family room (the living room already has a 4K Firestick)
