It's reliable and pic quality is pretty good on Apple TV. The service is more like an online TV provider rather than being truly on demand, so that you often have to wait for a designated time to watch a game. Because of time zones and stuff I really only get to watch one or two games on it a month.

I've been using it since it's birth and it's good, easy to use and reliable

I have the app on my phone and tablet and works fine.  Works well with Chromecast too.

One thing I have found: if you want to watch a live game, just choose the channel and give it a chance to do its thing or you can end up with two streams going at once and the sound from the second stream interferes with the first.

Also sometimes it can take a while for games to appear on demand if you didn't see them live.  e.g. a 4am game might not turn up on demand until 8 or 9am.

That's all good info, thanks very much Giggs. Does every game appear later on 'on-demand'?

In terms of the premier league I believe so yes but I have never bothered to check.  Not sure about the other competitions.  They all do have highlights shows though which are good.

There's been a few times I've gotten up to watch a game live in the early hours and the service has either gone down, audio out of sync or had bad stutter.

There facebook page usually gets filled with other annoyed fans when this happens.

But mostly pretty reliable, quality was definitely better on Sky when it was in HD though.

You mean to say that if it was in hd on sky and app, the sky hd was better..!? Is the hd now on the app good enough for a big screen?

Sky HD feed of Bein is much better with less lag on fast movement; the online showing is not quite as good but I would call it adequate.

BEIN App HD quality looked perfect to me when I tested it over a month when it was first released in NZ. I didn't observe any fault states or poor quality.

Test Environment:

46" Samsung UA46C7000

Gigabit UFB

Mikrotik CCR1009 feeding cat6 to TV
