Looks like Amazon/google have started rolling out the update to allow you to cast to FTV and from Amazon prime on Android to your Chromecast.
Nice. Will have to check it out at home tonight

Will we be getting youtube back on the old firetvs or are just the recent ones getting this update? If I can use the proper app on the old one I might take it out of retirement.

Similarly, Google's re-allowed the official YouTube app to be installed on Fire TVs, but this is being rolled out over time with current versions getting it now and earlier models getting it sometime in the future.  This is a good thing, as the substitute apps aren't the nicest.

Im more happy if I get it on my echos TBH, since I use one as a 4th screen at the PC often to watch videos on, great for twitch.

Just tried and works great. So happy. Been one thing holding Prime back. Remember if keen you likely want PrimeVideo $8.99 NZ a month NOT Amazon Prime which is way more expensive and atm useless with free delivery and other stuff we cant use (tho that is changing soon with NZ moving to serviced from Aussie and all Prime features)

You can get a discount for the first 6 months: Welcome to Prime Video

US$2.99 (NZ$4.53) then it goes up to US5.99 (NZ9.08) per month at todays rates.

Whilst the difficult we can do immediately, the impossible takes a bit longer. However, miracles you will have to wait for.
