Over last few weeks, prime video has gone from being able to get 1080p quickly to lucky if I can get DVD quality and rarely 720.

On 2degrees. Used to be able to get 1080 and 4k no issues. My Mibox 3 sideloaded APK is now terrible. Goes from watchable (DVD) to pixelated.

Older panasonic prime video app is better, but quality also bad.

About the same time noticed prime promos getting slotted in before you play something or in-between episodes.

I have reasonably fast VDSL, typically around 80/25 over ethernet. Not sure if it is because I have unsupported / older devices.

Tried all the usual. Reset. Clear cache. Re log in. Reboot routers. Switch modems etc. Tested on wifi and ethernet.

Possible issues with connection, but I don't see any other issues. Youtube fine.

Perhaps a issue with routing beyond me or do I simply need to get a supported device such as a fire stick to get good quality?

Can't give you anything more than anecdote, but Prime Video seems to be a mess.

On my PS4 Pro, seems to be streaming at a good enough resolution, usually 1080p or 4k depending on content.

On my desktop, I couldn't get it to go above 360p. I ended up pirating content that I had a paid subscription for to watch, go figure.
