Hi there just wondering if anyone can assist me to decipher a Kodi error that I cannot seem to find a fix for or even understand the issue.

The error is as follows :

Value Error: No JSON object could be decoded

File "/resources/lib/api.py"line 47, in belt return self,_session get(url), json()

File "/resources/lib/plugin.py", line 163, in episodes rows =api.belt(path)

This error only seems to happen in Kodi on TVNZ On Demand therefore we cannot watch anything, if we watch TVNZ On Demand on my tablet without Kodi it seems to work ok.

I have searched and googled but have not been able to find anything

Thanks in advance and appreciate any assistance.

I'm not a regular Kodi user. I'm assuming you are using latest version on windows?

Kodi recently moved to python 3 and this is expected to break one or two older add-ons.

Installed any add-ons or upgraded lately?

It's not just you.

Don't need to update it, it just breaks.

Possibly related to repository changes from the plugin maker who has abandoned them. Although re-adding and updating has not resolved

It's entirely possible the front end it scrapes has now been modified and requires an update (or blocked on purpose)

Thanks Oblivian I suspect you are right, I am looking at another repository related to posts by @apsattv other than the one I was using which was a replacement to the original plugin maker.

For clarity, I was on MH. Tested, got the error. So changed repository to the new one, but no change. So it's more the TVNZod Side I suspect.

Yes I had to wonder if it was related to TVNZ only, I can view TV3 Now etc and believe it or not Duke but not TV1 or TV2 its all starting to make sense now.

I've got the same issue with TVNZ - Running the new 0.16.1 version of the TVNZ Kodi Plugin.

Had the problem with selected TVNZ shows about 2 weeks ago but not it appears to affect everything.

Kinda frustrating. Use to be a nice ad-less netflix like experience and you could skip the real ones on the box, let alone the online exclusive stuff that should be up instead of some of the drivel.

I was watching on my phone using proper app and kept getting dropped the other night. Not the best experience especially when they bombard you with ads every time you re-start a stream

Until there's a new version, I have a partially fixed version here:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/zdvs6vnhfj5orrf/plugin.video.tvnz.ondemand.zip?dl=1

This basically flattens out the listing of series to put them on the main menu for the programme.

Let me know if you try it and if you have any issues with it. It still contains quite a lot of debug logging, and it isn't very polished.

Matt.

Same problem here … I wonder if Voda and SmartVu are getting TVNZ to run us Kodi users outa' town 🤪

I wondered if it was a season browsing /destination not found type issue. As it's fairly flat on the webpage. But always had the drill down options within the addon

UPDATE:  I solved the problem by going to Huisman's web site and using SlyGuy's Repository.

SlyGuy's IPTVNZ install gives additional Freeview channel streams as well as apparently correcting the problem.

I had already added it as an attempt to fix when first noticed. But alas. Appears it has been updated since
