I'm choosing to withhold any comments I am sorely tempted to make, and instead saying, please give us more details of what the problem is, how you've tried to fix it, what you're using when you're having the problem, we need details if we're going to be able to help you at all. Also I feel like you could've picked a more relevant forum than Off topic...
Anything I say is the ramblings of an ill informed, opinionated so-and-so, and not representative of any of my past, present or future employers, and is also probably best disregarded.
I used to have that on occasion on Apple TV. Normally start a program, stop it, choose another, or maybe dump out to main menu then back it. Play another program and audio from birth, video from one.

Having had the same reaction as @toejam316 in terms of details provided, just experienced the same issue.
ATV4 running tvOS 13.4.5, TVNZ on demand. Watched an episode, exited the app and put the ATV to sleep. Woke up, went back to TVNZ app, and the audio from the previously watched episode started playing in the background. Started a different episode and the other audio continues. Only way to resolve was reboot ATV.
Have had same issue also get swipe up for episode message sticking on screen as well won’t disappear. TVNZ updates are terrible these days
We are using the OnDemand App on our AppleTV 4 and have had an issue for a long time (over 6 months)…
Every so often, after watching a streamed television show and either changing shows or turning the TV off (the AppleTV unit stays powered on) and coming back the show audio is still streaming. If we select another show, the old audio is still playing over the top (with the new show audio as well).
I am unable to figure out how to get rid of the old audio apart from logging off the OnDemand App and then logging back in. Interestingly, even when logging off, the audio is still playing when sitting at the blank login screen (it resets AFTER I put my details in again and login). Also rebooting the AppleTV works, but that is also not a usable solution.
This has been happening for some time and on multiple versions of both the AppleTV OS and OnDemand App. It is also happening on both of our AppleTVs as well so not related to the AppleTV itself and given this thread, I assume that it is not related to our network either.
I took a punt and reached out to TVNZ yesterday and got a pretty quick response...
"Sorry to hear that this is still an issue for you. This was meant to have been solved with the latest release. I have let the team know about the persistence of this issue and have asked them to try and reproduce this on our end. I will let you know when we have a solution to this issue."
Fingers crossed they can sort it out in a future release. I will post here if/when I hear anything in the future.

Fingers crossed, this issue is behind us... Today, TVNZ emailed me regarding the support ticket I logged

Hi there.
This issue has now been resolved.
If this problem persists, can you please try uninstalling/reinstalling your TVNZ OnDemand app?
Happy viewing!
