Hi guys,

I'm just getting started with Google Assistant and its routines.

I can program it to play me the news when I say "Good Morning" but it all seems to be Aussie news channels.

Has anyone found any news broadcast that I can play in the mornings?

I've found this: https://www.rnz.co.nz/programmes/digital_bulletin/story/2018766885/latest-rnz-news-bulletin

Any idea what I need to do to get the Smart Speaker to play it via routines?

Kia ora Turtle attacks, RNZ headlines are there the thing is you have to scroll down a lot to get it. It gives what it thinks you want (probably because set to Australian English, and we don't have NZ English yet). Then you go down and it gives you USA, technology, business, sports and then finally World news. Under World news you will find RNZ.

Edit: Sorry forgot to say but of course you have to click "Add news source" first to get to the list of all the other sources.

Or skip Assistant and listen from the RNZ app on your phone. Open app, two clicks and you are there.

Or use Siri - one phrase spoken and you’re there.

Cheers guys, I've found if I say the command "Play me the latest RNZ news", it'll play me the latest RNZ bulletin.

Late responding here, but once you have RNZ news set up as a routine, you can just say "play news" and that's what you will get 😀

I have the RNZ headlines on my google nest mini as part of my "good morning" routine. So you can definitely do it in a routine if you wish

Ive just confirmed you don’t even need a routine established to do this - just by having RNZ Headlines selected in the ‘News’ section of GA, I can just say ‘play news’ to get the latest bulletin. (Not sure what happens if more than one service is selected, though.)

And I’ve been trying stuff like ‘play the latest radio New Zealand news’ commands which results in Google playing some random sh!t (but never what I want!), so this is great, thanks.

That said, it’s also a good one to include in the ‘good morning’ routine.
