From what I can tell made by fans, guess it’ll get taken down quick if not legal.

Haven’t watched yet, but most comments are positive.

A write up on it here.

There's lots of this fan content. Check out Star Trek Continues.

Excellent, I really enjoyed that. One of the best fan stories I've seen. DC Fontana has the writing credit. That explains part of it. On the negative side one must overlook the strangely unshaven captains and odd looking but comfortable costumes. The unusual lack of diversity in the bridge crew seems odd post-Discovery for something made in 2020. On the plus side I learned several new things about Star Trek. Top effort.

One of the female leads also starred in this one which thought was lol funny as:

Watched it last nite and liked it for a fan movie. One issue I did have was the sound mix. It was real bad. I had to keep changing the volume levels on my HT amp all the time. They need to fo a sound remix.

Once you get over the cheesiness of Star Trek Continues it's actually a very faithful recreation of the sets and costumes and makeup of the original series.  Which itself is known for being cheesy....so it fits quite well as a continuation.  James Doohan's son plays Scotty, and Grant Imahara (RIP) plays Sulu, so you know it's got a solid link to the original AND a solid link to great special effects capability.
