REVRY or REVRY HOME is a LGBTQ+ streaming service available in New Zealand and worldwide. It is subscription free with ad's or subscription without ad's (monthly or yearly). I mentioned this site yesterday here: #2729103
I finally had a good look at it yesterday via the browser site version and the tvOS version. With the the tvOS version only a couple gripes: Not very intuitive to navigate around and a lot of buffering once you are streaming. I think this could be due to them only having one lot of servers all based in the States.
However the browser based website is appalling. I think this is due to the designers porting the iOS/tvOS to a browser base and OH BOY it does not work.
- no scroll bars
- it is all image map linked & driven, even the site navigation bar across the top. (right clicking brings up all things related to images NOT to the webpage that the image is meant to be linked to)
- due to #2 you can not open links in separate tabs and this is the main method of search these days (go down a list, click to open links in another tab in background, go through those tabs at leisure)
- when you click on a link then return you can only return via the back button BUT worst still, you get returned to the top of the originating page again even though you are miles down that page and now have to mouse scroll (no scroll bar) to your last position.
- all of the above makes for VERY slow site navigation!!
- There is no mention of subscription info on fees except at the initial sign-up stage - not even in FAQ
- the overall site is very very slow to load with a spinning load symbol all the time and then fade in of the page
- This makes the site all very very laborious ❗️☹️
NOTE: I am talking about the REVRY HOME website not their front REVRY advertising site which appears to be a normal website site design.
PS: it does load quicker in Safari than Firefox 89. So it looks like it is all Apple code based, maybe Swift, I don't know.
I sent the above list to the site support and got back:
