Howdy folks

I had sideloaded the Neon app on to my shield but a recent update stopped it from loading.  Extracted the APK from my Google TV powered TCL and attempted to sideload but it now won't install.  Has anyone manage to get the latest Neon update working on Android TV devices, specifically the Shield TV?

Ta

Shouldn't have to side load neon to the shield it is (or was anyway) on the play store.  Just ran it up on mine, works ok.  Version 3.0.6.

Is yours the newer shield?  Mines the older shape from 2017 and Neon is not showing in the play store at all; doesn't show via search but TVNZ is there... oh well... picked up a Google chromecast with google tv (HD version as the tv is only 1080p) to tied us over until we replace the tv with a google tv powered 4k set.

Yes newer one. Wouldn't have thought that would matter though.

Seems to have made a difference, the older versions don't seem to get all the NZ apps.

Just picked up a Chromecast with Google TV in the HD version using flybuys as the TV only supports 1080p and the replacement will be a google TV 4K TV anyway... so it will suffice and I'll repurpose the shield for geforce now games in the office.
