I'm looking for a Geekzone member with a Samsung Tizen tv with Samsung TV plus to aid in capturing a few missing streams.

I can give instructions for a basic logging of some of the streams using a wifi hotspot. But interested in if anyone can come up with a better method for sniffingg https traffic from the tv.

I have a QA55QN90B... What exactly do you want to check? I use AdGuard Home for DNS filtering, and this TV is very chatty - it's quite impressive how much logging it and standard streaming apps try to do.

The problem is in getting https out of it. Would like to see where it pulls the samsung tv plus data from. So it can be automated.

Currently a hackish way is to use https://mypublicwifi.com/publicwifi/en/index.html

to setup a wifi hotspot on pc or laptop then connect the tv to it and use the built in logging of urls. However of course this doesnt capture a full https entry.. you get partial url which has to be manipulated into getting the correct full m3u8 stream.

You cant install certificates into Tizens tv's from what i've seen. There might other ways to get the info out of it MITM PFSENSE etc

If you can make a logging and send me it in pm, it would be handy to find some some of the missing streams for my nz samssung m3u playlist.

The Privoxy proxy I use for ad blocking supposedly can do MITM to block HTTPS traffic in its later versions.  I have not actually tried it with MITM though.  You can get it to log URLs and alter content on the way through the proxy.

Thanks I will research privoxy. But I don't have access to a Samsung Tizen tv. Keen to find a method to get various https data out of Samsung TVs though. Their mobile TV plus app doesnt include regions like NZ and Australia.

I do have a method to get the data out of LG Channels though but its via a 3rd party that wont provide the full explanation on how he gets the json data as he's scared of getting his tv banned from it.

I do not have a Samsung TV, but I do have a Samsung Odyssey Neo G7 G70N3 43" monitor, which is just a TV without any tuners - it has Samsung TV Plus and all the other usual streaming TV (Netflix, Prime, Disney+) installed.

I only use it as a monitor, but I just tried Samsung TV Plus streaming and it worked.

Great are you able to experiment with logging traffic from it? in particular the https traffic logged when you 1st open the tv plus app. I don't think you install certificate into samsung tizen to snoop traffic using fiddler and wireshark etc.

It needs mitm or some type of proxy. That's where i'm stuck..maybe even a network tap or port mirror using hub switch??
