AI generated video of some guy or girl is obvious, give me a landscape picture of something pleasant to replace the fake video with, while I read the CC

Then the CC is often rubbish. The AI audio was pretty reasonable on one I watched this morning, until it mentions 4 X , i.e. 4 times, which it read as 4 EX a few times

Easy fix, drop out and seek a real person

If I was a Youtube channel, seems far easier to be real and personal,  than faff around pushing the AI button while I go t the pub

The lip sync with fake presenters is terrible, ugh.

Their music match suggestion is useless to me. Within an hour of listening to some genre it has changed mood, tempo & what ever else it can. 👎👎👎

YouTube has zero algorithm for automated similar music. It has some kind of friend playlist mixing but that's about it:

Sadly..

Interesting re Music, I only watch 80's clips, so they are just old clips

My issue is clips like How to xxxxxxx  then AI have to watch a AI person talking, with the usual voice errors

If it has a thumbnail that looks AI generated, I'm not opening it and I hit 'don't recommend channel' if I can.  Same with any 'reacts' video.

Me too

Watched one the other night, as Asian American guy. The AI video of him was pretty good actually. Blinking which is the obvious giveaway was spot on, has had eyebrow movements which were very good, but they became repetitive. End of the day I want to watch real people

The worst ones are where there is no person just CC and images. Full of mis-pronunciations, basic spelling errors, it just makes seeking useful info to be a joke.

Easily fixed though, as Mike alluded to

This isn't directly related to AI, but the home page seems to be... not great. I was scrolling down and found at least two videos repeated multiple times in the list of suggestions.

Normally I don't look at the home page, instead using a third-party organiser, but a few days ago YouTube yanked the API that it uses without any fanfare. Grr.

The only truly worthwhile AI videos are those of Chuck Norris kicking and punching various people.

Very specific, reputable videos on YouTube hold a distinct technical value for me—but that value most certainly does not lie in the realm of mindless entertainment. The only important thing is to be able to make this distinction—so as not to become the product oneself.

Curious which organiser you use.

I've noticed that Americans like to say 4 EX instead of 4 times even without the help of AI. I wonder if the AI is catering to the American market.

I had an acquaintance who started talking like that during the crypto madness. He started talking about his tokens being "ten ex", "forty ex", and so on - at first I had no idea what he was on about.

Our CEO did a talk recently and actually used this term when describing a 4 times increase in efficiency.

Annoyed the 4x out of me.

YouTube claims that it will soon detect and label AI slop. It remains to be seen how well this works in practice.

Why does the word "responsibility" always sound so bland and worn-out coming from the mouth of a Google subsidiary?
