TL;DR version:   Get Bigpipe UFB = Get free stuff

Long version:

So you guys would have seen our super sweet and sexy UFB plans already at www.bigpipe.co.nz
Just in case you haven't, here's what we're doing:

Starter plan.
$79pm   100Mbps down 20Mbps up
(we call it the starter plan because despite it being the same speed as most other ISP's fastest plan, we think it's the bare minimum speed any UFB plan should be offered at)

Pro Plan
$99pm  200Mbps down  20Mbps up
(probably the best plan for most people)

Elite plan
$129pm  200Mbps down  200Mbps up
(best plan if you do a lot of uploading, backing up to the cloud, torrenting of Linux iSOs etc, or if you just want to brag about your UFB speed to other people on geekzone :P  )

All the plans come with the usual Bigpipe awesome sauce which means:

  • First month FREE trial for new customers
  • Free connection
  • No term contract
  • Unlimited data.
  • BYO modem/router
  • Superfast online support
  • No hidden extras, fees or other 'gotchas'
So thats our 'normal' offer, and we think it's perfect for UFB early adopters coming to the end of their contract with the likes of Snap who would like to save a bit of dough each month and maybe bump their speed up a whole lot.

Here is an extra special offer just for geekzoners on top of all that good stuff, because we like you guys so much

Switch to Bigpipe UFB (any plan) before midnight on 17th October and, when you pay your first bill, we'll give you a $100 voucher of your choice.
Choose from:  JBHiFi,  iTunes, Mighty Ape, or anything else we can reasonably acquire.

To be eligible for this offer you must:

i)Be geekzone member with at least 1 post at the time of this post going live

ii)Sign up for Bigpipe UFB before midnight on 17th October 2014 (you do not have to be connected by then, just signed up)

iii)Fit any one of the following profiles:
Either, you are currently a UFB customer of another ISP moving to Bigpipe UFB
Or, currently a xDSL customer of another ISP moving to Bigpipe UFB,
Or, you are currently a Bigpipe xDSL customer upgrading to UFB (yes, existing customers count too. You'll get the voucher, but not the month free, you already had that),

iv) be able to get Bigpipe UFB at your property (plans are only available in Auckland UFB areas currently - rest of country coming soon)

(other standard Bigpipe terms apply, staff and family of Bigpipe, Spark etc not eligible blah blah usual legal stuff. see site for details www.bigpipe.co.nz)

To claim your voucher, you'll just need to PM me on here with your details once your first bill is paid and we'll verify and send it out to you.

P.S. I know at least a couple of you have already switched already. We don't want to punish you for jumping in early, so don't worry, we'll still hook you up with the voucher - same terms apply. (we're nice like that) :)

Definitely let us know when you start servicing Wellington.

Giving Auckland the fastest internets first seems to break all the currently known laws of the universe...it just feels dirty laughing

the only thing I can think of as a 'catch' is that you need to BYO modem/router.

If you've already got one that works for UFB then you're all set (needs to have VLAN taggin and, if you want to make the most of the 200Mbps plans, Gb Ethernet ports)
Otherwise, you can get something like the Netcomm NF4V from PBtech for around $200, which is very solid.

iv) be able to get Bigpipe UFB at your property (plans are only available in Auckland UFB areas currently - rest of country coming soon)

Can you clarify the above - do you mean the property must have an existing and working UFB connection?  I ask because my street is being dug up right now UFB, so I can GET ufb, just not today.

my backdoor neighbour has UFB - can you run overhead wires hanging off the trees to my house until such time UFB comes to my street to do a proper install?

I guess not :(

How soon can you offer the 200Mbps/200Mbps plan in New Plymouth where UFF (not chorus) is the LFC?
And does the plan include a static IP, or can one be added?

You could suggest to your backdoor neighbour that you go halves in the 200/200 plan with them.  Put in a good solid router, set up a port for your neighbour at 100mbit and one for you at 100 mbit going to a solid wifi link to your house.
