I do wonder what it means when the statement "no adhoc masks i.e. scraves and bandannas" is spoken, but there are manufacturers that are producing scarf-like gaiters that have replaceable filters in them, so are (theoretically) as good as a cheap cloth mask with filter but ultimately more convenient and comfortable.

I have one of these and am concerned that I'll get challenged when wearing it, as it looks "ad hoc"...

Huh, just went to get a screenshot of the same!

Makes the $75 plus shipping plus small order fee plus GST I paid for the same product to be delivered sometime late February a veritable bargain...

Oops, I paid $59.99 plus small order charge plus GST; apparently a total of $76.46 - so there have been at least three increases ($40 > $60 > $75 > $108). And the site states 'general lead time is 3 days', despite me being told stock wouldn't be in until late Feb.

Just rung NXP and cancelled my order; unwilling to hand my money over to a company that clearly engages in questionable practices.

Is there anywhere that has N95 / P2 masks in stock or available soon for semi reasonable prices that people have found good? Ideally behind the head ones. I should probably get some.

OK - back to my query about whether a gaiter-style filtered mask would cause issues or not.

Looking at other solutions, if I were to cut up my Buff filter tube and make it more "mask-like", it would solve the issue of perception, while actually making the product worse.

I think there needs to be a really clear set of guidelines issued that CLEARLY shows that the shape or style of the mask matters little, if the coverage and filtration meets the brief.

I got my 3M 9123EN-25 KN95/P2 masks yesterday. They definitely are a better fit that your Type 3 surgical mask that I have been using so far (which were the standard CDHB-issued medical mask).

PB-Tech have a 5-pack for $30 and say shipping on 14/2:

James Bond - where did you order your masks from? Given the number of people looking for them, it's really useful if people can share sources!

👍 These ones also have the hook so that the straps are not on your ears, but it hooks behind your head. Very nice.

DOn't forget you can reuse them by putting them in a paper bag or somewhere out of the way for 3 days

problem is, it then falls back to who enforces this? should businesses have to take the time to question everyone with a "mask" like that or should the user just go with something that causes no hassles and is clear cut in what it is?

i appreciate you may have spent a bit of money on it and it does a good job of filtering and meets those standards its just hard for others to know that and not just think its a scarf/bandana type "mask".
