This weeks's shop turned out to be quite a bit more expensive than usual - didn't help that Countdown didn't have hardly anything on special.
Placed the bidfood order yesterday afternoon - says it's on hold. I'm interested to see how this goes.
After seeing the lines around midday yesterday, went in early just before the shop (Pak n Save, Flat Bush) was 'officially' open. Quick squirt of sanitizer and wipe of trolly handle followed by walking past a person who had a thermal camera. Lot of empty shelves so which I hope gets loaded up over the day unless there is an actual shortage of goods. Cashiers seemed better protected while those packing the shelves were hanging around in groups much closer than 2 meters. Even though there were announcements to keep 2 meters away, number of times i was close to 1 meter and less away from people due to not enough space to walk past the trolleys.
just back from the local New World. Queued 30 minutes (2 meters apart) round the block for my 2 bread & milk.
The "door man" insisted that I use the trolley even though I said I do need it for my 2 items. She sprayed and wiped the trolley handle before my use.

Wife is paranoid, so want to use online but that seemless worse than hopeless right now. Mate setup for that last night, no booking slots. Checked this morning as a new day of slots, all full. Countdown recommended to go instore. Do we need to go online shopping at 11-59pm?
With all due respect, there's too many 'paranoid' but physically able shoppers using online shopping and, as a consequence, making it difficult for the elderly and medically vulnerable to get their deliveries.
Weekly shop done at a different supermarket today after driving past the other two local ones with significant queues prior to opening time. 20 min queue outside with the now standard one out, one in policy. Hand sanitizer and wipes inside the door though some interesting interpretations on how best to use them. Quiet and orderly inside with minimal encroachment into the 2m exclusion zone. Everything appeared to be in stock. Including flour in "normal" size packaging, though not massive amounts.
Might try varying the time of day in the coming weeks and see if that makes any difference once the opening rush has done their shop.
CokemonZ: Bid food just called, took credit card over the phone, delivery scheduled for Monday.
Little more expensive than the supermarket, but delivery slotsbopen everyday next week, and a good selection of pretty much everything
Thanks for the update, I registered last night and I'm waiting for my login details. I've used their website before (for a commercial operation) but it was a while ago - were you able to get fruit and veg, or is that separate through Bidfresh?

Fruit and vege was there. They seem to have brought everything together into one for residential.
Not a full selection - no cheerios, had to go for ricies. Oh the humanity /s
Won't arrive till Monday, but looks good

Bidfood no use to us - they do not appear to make it over the hill to the Wairarapa.

antonknee: Interested in the Bidfood offer - in particular as I really like their hot cross buns which I think are far superior to the supermarket ones or Bakers Delight ones. Hard to spend $200 on HCBs though...
Went for a run last night - 6km loop, so hopefully within the definition of ‘local’. Saw quite a few people out and about too, probably more than expected. NZ will have some very, very fit dogs in a few weeks time.
Also some people need to be a bit better about sharing the footpaths and getting out of each other’s way to maintain some distance. I’ve taken to running in the road shoulder in places to achieve this.
I might have had to buy a wagyu brisket to break the $200 barrier.............
or was that the first thing in the cart ;)
