Has anyone tried the round looking Esko ones? They look like they might not be as easy to seal / as comfortable as the ones that look like they have a nose.

The Breathe Easy w/valve? I got a box last week at Mitre 10, find them a good fit and comfortable.

Was meaning this type. I thought that having a valve means unfiltered air gets out which isn't so good for others? Might be better for glasses wearers.

Thanks for the tip @Wakrak, got some on order eta 3-8 Feb and should work out to ~$84 NZD with CC fees.

Probably not the cheapest option, but I'd rather pay a little bit extra and get a reputable brand than take my chances with some of the unknown brands. With creative reuse, these should last a while with both my wife and I WFH, and supplemented with some of the Helix.iso filter ones we got in the first lockdown.

Alternatively, you can pick up 5-packs at Bunnings for $13.98, but your local might be out of stock despite the PowerPass app saying otherwise.
You can follow that conversation here.

I have a full beard, not a closely cropped one but a longer style that is common nowadays.

I’m guessing it’s going to have to go as the bottom and sides of the mask sit on top of it Is there any study or whatever that refutes this?

I quite like my beard and if it can safely stay I’d like to keep it. But I imagine I’m dreaming.

Looks like there is a market for beard sanitizer. :-)

Its a bit imperfect, but when you look at masking you have to consider that others are masked too.
So its not just yours doing the work.  A bit of this a bit of that.

A bit of distancing helps things along as well, and breathing calmly and keeping away from shouty people.

Like those that shout on their cellphone, mask pulled down below the nose, so they can get enough air in to shout.
Like everyone in the store is interested in your relationship problems.

In my area I consider it a good shopping trip if I don't see a 'Naked Nose'.
For ---- sake the comfy first home of this virus is the nasal passages.

The office bought these at the beginning of the pandemic. We still have those boxes floating around in the office. While most people haven't been much in the office since the first lock downs, nobody seems to like the fit of them. Too round & too hard.

depends on how much protection you want. anything longer than a few mm starts to impact on the protection provided by a P2/N95 that should sit against the skin and form a seal.

surgical mask its not so important but can still have an impact.

Mask fitter/brace, but I've yet to see anyone in NZ sell them. I tried the homemade method with rubber bands but the seal around the nose wasn't perfect..
