My wife was at the supermarket, unrelated to this. She was in before the announcement and she said within 15 minutes security guards were having to pretty much block the door way in. She said the number one thing people were buying was loo paper.

She said it was full on panic stations.. People never learn...

Exactly same thing happened to me.  Carpark maybe 20% full when I arrived, when I left chocka and double parking rampant (I was there 20mins max).  Toilet paper and chips (crisps) seemed the big goto item.

I had toilet paper and for some reason felt stupid going through checkout.  It was on my list!

One word: bidet.

I had a bad experience with one of those things. Cold water gave me a start and I slipped off the damn thing. Very embarrassing.

At least maintaining a fastidious use of the COVID App means I don’t have to try and reconstruct everywhere I’ve been in the last 2 weeks.

Good.

i think people misunderstood Dr Siouxsie Wiles when she tweeted "Aucklanders you know what to do"

I felt the same way during lockdown last year - by that time the TP aisle was fully stocked, but was paranoid about what people may think.

Probably an urban myth, but was told that someone went ballistic at a person with a trolley stacked full of TP at the local supermarket, only to find out that they worked there and were restocking the shelves.

That's not how they're normally used, unless perhaps a bird sh*t in your hair.

Nobody was wearing a mask except me (I always wear them in the super and chemist), and none of the people coming in as I was leaving bothered to scan.  SMH.

yep too true. Have had a hand bidet for 30 years. Best thing ever and the most hygienic method also. Don't need a bowl brush really and overall cheap to run as well. 4 squares in length to pat dry and you are good to go.

EDIT: spelling

I noticed at the weekend how few chips there were on the shelves and how expensive they had got, even though the packet sizes had shrunk. There does seem to be a shortage of stock at the moment at supermarkets and prices seem to have gone up significantly. Suspect much of this is related to Covid in some way.
