My partner is currently staying in a hospital in Blenheim with her Grandmother who is near death, she's asked me if I think she should drive home now (we're in Christchurch) or whether it would be OK to drive home in the morning. The level 4 rules don't seem to cover this situation, in that they tell you to stay in your place of residence, but I'm guessing they're OK with people travelling to get back home? I'm assuming if anybody of authority questioned her tomorrow, they'd tell her to go home (which she is doing anyway). Any thoughts?

nope, if you remember last level 4 , you had to stay where you are when lockdown started, no travelling to get home.

Hmmm

No specific mention of whether you can leave home to get vaxxed - and I'm booked for Thursday.

Not for 48 hours at least, they are assessing it.

I can't believe how busy the liquor shops were. Even busier than the supermarket.

That's just been addressed by JA  So for @D.W there's a 48 hour window for their partner to get home.

Sounds like Jacinda just mentioned there would be a 48 hour relocation period, so I think we've got our answer.

what is the point of having a lockdown if people can travel around the country during it.

How else do you deal with people who are away from home?

no idea but you either have a lockdown or you dont. So everybody who is visiting Auckland is allowed for the next 2 days to travel all around NZ getting home.

You have a lockdown, but account for the things that need to be considered in order for it to be realistic. In my partner's situation, she's not a patient at the hospital, has been going to cafes for all her meals etc. I'm not sure how making her stay in a hospital room she was a visitor in is going to help anybody.
