Maybe today?

A lot of countries are looking at Iceland now to see what the post Covid world will look like, and it would seem Australia are simply another country who have decided they are happy with what they see - unlike NZ who still believe that elimination is possible long term.
Are you saying that NZ is saying that we will not be opening up? All Ive seen is that when we are all vaccinated the next step is opening up. In our case we put the vaccine first then open up
More evidence of cognitive decline from C-19 published in the The Lancet.

People who had recovered from COVID-19, including those no longer reporting symptoms, exhibited significant cognitive deficits versus controls when controlling for age, gender, education level, income, racial-ethnic group, pre-existing medical disorders, tiredness, depression and anxiety. The deficits were of substantial effect size for people who had been hospitalized (N = 192), but also for non-hospitalized cases who had biological confirmation of COVID-19 infection (N = 326). Analyzing markers of premorbid intelligence did not support these differences being present prior to infection. Finer grained analysis of performance across sub-tests supported the hypothesis that COVID-19 has a multi-domain impact on human cognition

I don't think you can make any assumpotions from the lack of exponential growth. That didn't happen in Australia either.
Yes they do have exponential growth. Case numbers have been doubling every 8 days or so since the start of the outbreak in NSW.

We'll be heading into 6 days later today....
Most of the students have gone from around here post Lockdown. Traffic has dramatically reduced this morning.
Some still "probably" bursting their bubbles!
Chinese Consulate Visa Office still open, with visitors still arriving daily. (Not as many as usual)

Weekend was a bit of a spike. Sure a lot of 'large bubbles' here too :) (Who also seem to own multiple convoy driven 3-4 4x4 river hacks with doggo and bikes in the back..). Must be hard work not fitting in one car ;)
Batman: Wife went to pharmacy who got the first time was open for vax today. Done in literally 30s. Now waiting for the 20min.
They could have done this for the last x months.
Yes, could have. Vaccinate at pace for 10% of the week and wait for supplies the rest of the time. As it was they used their supplies as they got them, so made no difference

They are due for their second covid test tomorrow, but haven't even received the results of the first! What was the point of doing the first test then?

Not sure about that, they've made so many big mistakes that I seriously doubt the competency of the people in charge.
Even now, we should be ordering booster shots. It is fairly well known that the pfizer vaccine reduces in strength and that a 3rd shot will be needed.
Do you have confidence that this government is already ordering third shots so we will have them at the right time?

That surprises me. I'd assumed that lack of cognitive function made people more likely to get covid. I mean vaccination and isolation aren't rocket science.
