iPhone users - is there a way to add the 'card'/pass to the homescreen? My friend doesn't use Apple pay, so can't use the double 'side key' feature to open the wallet from the lock screen.

I don't use Apple Pay either nor had ever opened Wallet. I added to My Vaccine pass to Wallet, moved Wallet to the first screen and left it at that. For me Wallet will only be used for this app

Adding this to Wallet was a trivial one-click from the email for myself.  You don't have to set up a debit/credit card in Wallet to use it.  I've also put the QR in my Photos and was going to use it as the lock screen wallpaper as well but I assume the point of the wallet is that it the document it displays can't be altered. Could be wrong but I thought that was it's purpose.

Despite advice to the contrary, there are other wallet options in the Play Store and  I believe they will work, hence my question in my earlier post.

What experience do Android users have with other wallets other then Google Pay?

Only reason for those 2 being supported by default would be because it is something that is supported by the vast majority of phones.

The passport is worthless as something to prove you have been vaccinated without the validator. Without a validator app/process you may as well just accept a piece of paper saying iz vaxed and that's the case even if someone presents a passport stored within apple wallet or google pay

I know you don't want to hear it, and get abusive rather than expect that nothing you do will work and if it does then that is a bonus.

There is only one wallet on stock Android platforms supported and that is Google Pay. If anyone else is wanting to use anything else other than Google Pay then it will be a rounding error number of users.

Considering that this is a mass-market solution and not opening up with all your posts saying "I know I am not using a stock Android platform from the OEM on my device but..." means we need to remember to dig through previous posts and repeat what we have previously said that anything other than stock OEM versions of Android from Google and all bets are off.

https://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=161&topicid=270639&page_no=44

I am sure I could find other posts, but it seems like a complete surprise each time you post that something you are trying to do doesn't work... Then various responses later it turns out you are running non Android and then the penny drops. Trying to circumvent the dialogue where folks respond with "Oh that is weird as it worked for me". I highly recommend you open every post you have if you are having something weird with the above.

Technofreak: No, she is running Android.

Is that stock Android with Google Play and Google Pay installed and accepted the T&Cs on a non-rooted device? As I think you need to be clear in that when you post.

Batman:

Sorry I thought this was for one's online health record, I take it its not my health record it's just vaccination record.

Now need to figure out how to my myself an online health record....

AFAIK an online health record depends on your GP or health provider using one of the "patient portal services". Ours is via ManageMyHealth (note how crowded the naming is).

I've just taken a screnshot of the QR code, and pinned the photo to the home screen on android. Image opens far quicker than the PDF readers.

I think I saw someone say they added it to stocard. But that will be in the same vain as holding/sharing a piece of paper with one on it or a screenshot.

For the astute also checking for ID and validity, Will have no active screenlock reveal. No ability to confirm live validity using the 'details' button in the wallet.

Likely be alone, ,But I'd be suspect if I was a bouncer watching oodles of people in a line on their mobile phones then come up and hand over a QR code on paper or not the official wallet. As it turns out, many of the people sharing them on Socials.. may not be stupid. But think they are doing everyone else a free service.

I've been waiting for my covid vaccination letter for around 5 weeks now... on the application form they said it takes up to 10 days.... unsure if they intend on sending it at all?

Pretty poor.

I requested a request for email proof on the 18th October. Received the following on the 18th, but nothing since then.

Your request for proof of COVID-19 vaccination for has been submitted

We’re receiving a large volume of requests and there may be delay in responding.

Wonder if they have lost it (have checked spam etc).

@Bartender

You don't get it do you? I was asking about a stock Android phone. No where in that post did I mention about any other OS. You jumped to an incorrect conclusion and made an uncalled for comment.

When I open Play Store on a stock Android device (Samsung S8) and type in wallet I get offered several digital wallets, Stocard, Cards, Wallet Cards, Your Wallet, Google Pay etc etc. It would seem your statement that there is only one supported wallet on stock Android platforms is incorrect.

Just log in and digitally request another... You can request as many copies as you want from the digital system....

How does an official wallet make it any different? Both display a QR code that needs to be read by a suitable reader. They're just storing a copy of the QR code you get on the certificate which you could have printed.

Calm down everyone. Bartender is right in that your post wasn't clear. We know you run Sailfish and in many previous interactions you asked for something about Android without mentioning Sailfish, throwing everyone off in the following replies. It is natural to ask and point out that it would be easier if your posts were clearer from now on.

Yes, there are many wallets for Android. The only officially supported wallet for this use case is Google Pay. Others may work but you won't find support outside the community. I think this is clear enough now.

Since you haven't actually installed it yet. You likely won't realise why I mentioned it...

It requires biometric to reveal it. And has an active button at the bottom to identify details of the code and who issued it. Something a bit of paper and a screenshot can't.

If a manned check was in progress. Official wallet version isn't as easy exploited in that measure.

Support. It is already hard to have to support people who need tests, vaccination, passes, MIQ, etc.

By supporting only the official platform wallet you reduce requirements for people to test every single wallet alternative - and believe me it's enough that people already complain about different browsers, imagine "I am using an obscure wallet on an old Android version running on a rooted Chinese knock off I bought off AliExpress and it's not working"

I downloaded mine this morning and it was a very smooth process - it actually took less than five minutes.

As an Apple Pay user I am able to double-press the side button to see the vaccine pass within my wallet. I have also printed off a couple of copies for backup, so I will have one in my bag and one in the car glovebox.
