HelloThere: Looks like mask wearing will be legal until L1.

There was hint of it being adjusted. But not seen it signed off or pending yet?

Changes dated 25th (order 9) still seem to be https://www.legislation.govt.nz/regulation/public/2021/0210/latest/LMS537517.html

It's even legal in level 1. The blue gang aren't coming to get you for wearing a mask unless it's in a bank.

Heh. Good point. Guess the word was meant to be mandated/required.

Geektastic:

I still cannot see what the reason you are doing something for in this case has any effect on the safety or otherwise of the activity - nor, for that matter, can I see what relevance the ethnicity of the person undertaking the activity has to the safety or otherwise of the activity.

Seems I'm not the only one. The reference to customary rights has been removed. Anyone who can safely do so may go fishing in the ways described in the rule.

What's more mask use is mandatory in some situations at all Levels, including L1

https://www.health.govt.nz/our-work/diseases-and-conditions/covid-19-novel-coronavirus/covid-19-health-advice-public/covid-19-use-masks-and-face-coverings-community

eg.

While at Alert Level 1 the use of masks and face coverings is mandatory:

  •

    • on all public transport, including on long-distance bus and train journeys and most ferries
    • on domestic flights throughout New Zealand
    • by taxi and ride-share drivers — while it’s not compulsory for passengers to wear them, we strongly encourage you to.

... You should practise the basic hygiene measures and wear a mask or face covering in situations where physical distancing is not possible.

TeaLeaf: I dont know what some people who are not mobile would be doing with no vaccination centres between Albany and Whangarei (only GPs which they cannot access as not enrolled patients)

You can get your covid vaccine at a GP other than yours, that is no trouble at all. Just phone the practice and they'll get your details.

Lots of GP practices North of Auckland are not on bookmyvaccine but taking phone bookings

Should, yes. Legislated offence under subclause 26. No. Not yet.

That's what were trying to point out - The original mandate making it an offence, only covers public and air transport under all levels. The update to that when we went in at 6pm, was fast signed, level 4 specific. And as yet, not changed, even though they have updated the public facing 'rules and requirements' pages to indicate it's status quo for 3. (and people will exploit that unless it changes)

Just like how the Whitebaiting ones have been edited inline with real-world findings when the police realised they can't enforce it falling it back on the legislation order.

"New Zealand has recorded 83 new cases of Covid-19 in the community, the worst day of the Delta Outbreak yet.

And Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern has hinted that level 4 could get even stronger to stamp Delta out."

Strange. Given that 75% of cases are the expected transmissions in the home. Which shouldn't pose a risk to the community. Maybe if we got 90 cases and 89 were household cases we can shut Auckland down forever even though it would be heavily contained and under control?  Or maybe if we got 39 cases and 35 of them are true CT then we can say we done a good job??? The former is a huge win, the latter is a huge fail.

Hey cheers for that. How would you know which ones are though if not using bookmyvaccine?

I randomly found a pharmacy that has its own calender not the bookmyvaccine site, unfortunately it is too far away but it has some slots late september. it might be a way to find a reasonable date.

If you find todays transcript, Some are attributed to workplaces. 4 'essential' businesses are known to have inter-staff transfer. When precautions are meant to stop that. So they're been looked at with a fine tooth comb.

As as soon as they went home, their bubble was added to that list post-lockdown

She indicated depending on how those findings were. The current doing business safely under 4 could change. IE scrutinize those who think they are essential (my local car parts joins are doing car cleaning packs for fathers day as 'essentia'.. really?). Or ditch workplace mingling or entry/exit requirement and so on once they find where the transmission took place and work to patch it.

Does this site help you find a nearby location?

heavenlywild: Looking promising based on recent numbers indicating we are nearly at the peak.

Sunday/Monday numbers have always been a bit sus due to weekends and I'm guessing the lab techs need a break at some point, so can't say I blame them.

Tuesday is really the next indicative, normalised day after Friday from what I can remember.

Big question is whether there will be changes to the current law which is very narrow (masks must we worn around public basically). As we move to L3 there are going to be a hundreds of thousands of people going back to their place of work - and the vast majority aren't going to be required to wear masks if the current health order rules were simply carried over to L3.
