We could start doing Pfizer now as a booster for the early vaccinated, but who's to know if that's a great option or ends up as a poor option?

Well we shouldn't yet.

May have a better idea in about 10 days time:

Excited for my first jab (mainly for the sake of our baby) and my partner who is already full vaxxed. I'm sure it will go perfectly fine, I can't think of a single thing that has ever gone wrong on September 11.

I have just had my first dose this morning and the whole operation seemed very professional and well organised. I originally scheduled a three week spacing for my second dose because I wanted to have it as soon as possible in case we don't get the current outbreak under control. When I asked the nurse for advice she said that there is some evidence of six weeks being beneficial but three weeks is fine and all the vaccinators there have had the three week spacing.

I will report back if I experience any significant side effects.

Singapore is using robots to detect bad behaviour among the public.
Quote "These include flouting Covid-19 safety measures (such as "the congregation of more than five people")

"Ah Singapore, such a fine country. There's a fine for this, a fine for that, and a fine for..."

Said to me by a reasonably high ranking member of their defence force not so long ago.

Well, we're in the teens.

But these tail end recent infections are still not cool.

Confused why the border re-opening only recently announced now needs to be retooled because of Delta - I would have thought that Delta was already a known quantity and established in MIQ by the time it was announced, so why the retooling?

I can't see them going out of lockdown anytime soon when there appear to be quite a few cases they can't trace back. It isn't much different to that initial one case which couldn't be tracked back.

Agree. It has to be zero cases, not zero "reported" from the few tests taken. test wastewater pre MIQ locations, etc The tracing would be handy to locate any new LOI's. But its about zero cases over many days now, then maybe L3

Probably most of the retooling was already done or in progress by the people at the sharp end, and information about it has now filtered up to the top of the tree and been made official.

Looking at the Cumulative vaccinations by DHB Graph, Auckland appears to be above 3.5M now. Does that mean we are getting close to all being double dosed? I don't think so, but it is pleasing to see either way.

I think possibly just another lesson learnt, yes things seem to be far too reactive still, but hopefully the more we adapt the faster we become proactive. Its not dissimilar to knowing NSW has a Delta outbreak, knowing how much more virus is in the spittle aerosol etc, yet leaving the trans tas bubble open until we obtained Delta. Its just the speed of action not the information at hand that seems to be the lessons being learnt.

onya mate, slightly sore arm was all i noticed, 4 days on its almost unnoticable. I hope yours is similar exp. Kia kaha. Well being for us all, vaccination in unity is the only road to success, at least that seems the message.

Was touched on in stand up.

4M nationally. 1.9M fully dosed.

That's on par or more than the Flu jab annually.

Quick update on Israeli C19 data since like NZ they are a 'Pfizer only' country.  So of interest here.

Can I ask where you got the graph? Its awesome source (literal).

Sometimes I think people who are visual learners, will not be swayed by data, text, audio etc. This kind of thing is what they/me appreciate, cuts to the chase.

That popped up a brilliant idea (to me haha), lets hire Bill Burr to do the Stand Up's ;-p. In times of data exhaustion, humour keeps the morale up haha.

On serious note, ok. Just me not reading the graph correctly then. Thank you.

there is a lot of pressure to at least go to level 3. (it took me 1 min to read facebook posts today before i moved on - a lot 'communist' comments/posts - both from NI and SI people.)

whether they will or not i have no idea. media however is hyping it up.

i don't think even they know at this stage, being 1 week to go. things seem to happen at the last minute, on a need-to-happen basis.

without the outbreak we'd still be unvaccinated and proudly packing the freezers.

No. It's a cumulative graph so Auckland looks to be more like ~1.5 million.
