How long will the pre-amble be today before she gets to the point?

TAB should start odds -

20: 1 - Under 5 minutes

10:1  5 - 10 Minutes

2:1 - 10+

??

DS248:

C19 test numbers for yesterday not pretty either.  Just 8,657 across the country

But even though I’m in Auckland, I don’t see the point of going to do a test if I’m asymtomatic AND been ‘locked in’ and mask using for 4 weeks already?

afe66: Nothing in stuff about suppression order being issued so are we allowed to ponder what the father job is ?

Doesn't seem to be a suppression order yet, but the names are widely available in other social media. Won't post names here, but if you search "wanaka couple name" on facebook, and read a few comments threads if you will find out.

If their names are all over media, social and news then the suppression order wont really have any teeth as everyone will know anyway.

The fine wont bother them, they own a holiday home in Wanaka, the bad publicity for them and anyone who helped them is the best punishment, accountability for your actions.

There are quite likely to be some significant professional consequences for one of them.

KiwiBornBloke: but things like this video make her hesitant this time:

So she won't get vaccinated as she believes a discredited mad doctor who posts antivax lies on social media.

Seems like a typical antivaxxer to me.

You make this all sound very black and white where for many people it isn't. Labelling the vaccine hesitant as anti vax is daft and counter productive.

Well then your criteria is a little looser … as I said she’s waiting for the “normal version” vaccine, unlike a ‘hard core’ anti vaxxer

The question was mutiny, re alert levels not changing. Vaccinated or not, you would be affected. Who would mutiny against who? People vs the people, as only they can comply and stop the outbreak.

"Mutiny" and "revolt" and "oppressed" and "communist" and "jackboot" and the like are commonly thrown around by "freedom warriors", in the hope that they get an echo. If enough echoes are heard and reverberated, another Charlottesville or attack of Congress will be attempted. It brings to mind Tom Sharpe's "Riotous Assembly", in which each of Luitenant Verkramp's 10 Security Branch undercover operatives encounters 9 other saboteurs, and ends up with a wave of sabotage, and exploding ostriches.

Oh - I haven't got started yet!

It is abject antivax bulls*t, and an irresponsible attitude from any parent of young children, potential orphans of course, one parent who won't get vaxxed, the other who did - but at risk because of a comorbidity that enabled him to be prioritised in group 3.

Thoughts and prayers.

Hard core - soft core, same end result, puts herself *and others at risk.

*including you and your kids.

Will we have zero unlinked cases by this time next week? I doubt it.

I suspect this is one way of Ardern saying elimination is dead.
