What, Really?!?!?

I can't see how the two correlate. Did he joke about something he shouldn't have or neglected children because he was playing WoW?

He basically played it 24/7. His wife left him, he wouldn't shower, leave the house, feed himself properly. He wasn't (then) safe to look after kids (they were quite young) and had mood swings and developed a temper. It was scary to see. There are PLENTY of similar cases talked about online.

Reminds me of a guy we use to have here at work. He played Eve all day. It was very noticeable as every time you got near to his screen he would minimize certain windows. Even went so far as to eventually move his desk monitor around so nobody could see it. He got the boot eventually.

MikeAqua:

It's another form of addiction.  Biologically speaking addiction is a chemical process.

The same neuro-chemicals are involved whether you are addicted to gaming, crack, booze or love.

Serotonin and dopamine are biologically the only two things you directly enjoy.

I wonder how much dopamine and serotonin I’m getting every time someone hits that +1 button...
