Ah. That'd be right. Quite boutique. Much like the store on Lichfield :0

Stu1:
Kiwifruta: You could build your own.
I know an electrical engineer who built his own one, much cheaper, powerful and faster than the shop ones.
I saw this online looks good https://www.swytchbike.com , there is a vid on bbc looked pretty easy to convert
Looks good. Thanks for sharing, I registered my interest with them.
KrazyKid: If you are feeling handy buy a kit off aliexpress and convert an existing bike. Befang seems a reasonable motor for its price. Or maybe try luna cycles.
To be honest it seems relativity straight forward to do a conversation. (Says the guy who brought an ebike from a store)
Parental did this to my old Advanti Ridge Rider. Then soon discovered it makes a 12Kg bike even heavier. Eats through chains. Which in turn eats through sprockets if not kept in check.
And the added speed you get chews through the factory discs and pads fast..
I'm tempted to get one of these:

I like the idea of easy conversion (and deconversion) and I can choose the bike. Most low end ebikes I've seen are pretty low spec bikes. e.g. pay $2k for the ebike but the bike specs are only worth $500 so you're paying $1500 for the "e" part.
Handsomedan:Rarely if ever - they are a sought-after commodity and in short supply - also wildly over-priced. Top of the line Specialized Turbo Levo is upwards of $20k.
