@handsomedan in my numerous interactions with doctors who saved my life on many occasions, including cutting and stitching me up, I found that it is sometimes a doctor and not the needle you should be worried about. And had suffered a lot I would avoid any unnecessary interaction with the Doctor. If it is not about saving life, I do not want to see them.
Example: frozen shoulder, hand is loosing its strength, cannot lift it, muscle is shrinking with every day passing by, pain is terrible. Dude who seemed to be an experienced GP suggests he'll do injection of steroids into the bursa right there right now. Being educated enough to know that that procedure requires to be done under x-Ray (to see where it is injected) and has numerous side effects to the extent of not being able to use the arm at all, I told him NO.
Found proper ACC accredited acupuncturist who inserted a lot of needles into the shoulder muscles (not touching bursa) during several weeks, put electricity through the needles, to stimulate blood circulation and fixed me up.
That was not about needles, that was about trust into what can actually save my arm and do less harm.

The needle phobia thing is interesting. I'm quite okay with having needles stuck in me, but I absolutely cannot stand seeing anyone else being jabbed. Even the the oft repeated clips on TV news of random people being jabbed means I have to look away.

I actually think a lot of the hardcore 'tin-foil hat' brigade are just scared of needles in general - but will use anything they can find to try and 'reason' that vaccines are bad to cover for the needle phobia. The trouble is, they broadcast their mis-information to gullible people (because there is strength in numbers) and after a while start believing the BS they are propagating.

We have a grandchild that works herself up into a frenzy with anything vaguely medical (shots of any type specifically) - and after it has been done always laughs and says 'it didnt hurt at all'.

While I don't have that phobia, I think the child's response sums it up well....

It doesn't hurt at all.

Big 👍 to the needle hesitants who are rolling up their sleeves and just getting on with it - proud of you.

I finally managed to face my fear and complete it today.
Been trying for the last 3 days! Joys of being on call and having high priority faults eh...

Built myself up for it, took a support person along. Truth be told I probably psyched myself up more than just getting it done.

The live camera at the airport was great to know i wasn't stepping into a massive queue.

Seemed to be pretty good volumes of people going through.
Bring on a few more weeks for the second and have it over and done with!

If my video helped at least 1 person, the time spent on preparing it (e.g. Subtitles, Speed view, etc) was not wasted.

P.S. Still mystery to me why it took over two hours to upload 17 minutes video. Seems like Yutube is checking every byte for copyright.
I am on ADSL with Spark. Exchange is about 800 meters from me so speed should be ok.

I am on ADSL with Spark. Exchange is about 800 meters from me so speed should be ok.

I suspect your upload speed may have been saturated. Upload speeds on ADSL arn't great, and I imagine youtube uploads whatever you give it, before it compresses down to the various bit rates that it uses. You could easily run a speed test of your upstream and compare to the file size out of your editor to test this hypothesis.

True story for you. You probably would like that. Or perhaps become acupuncturist?

Place: Overseas. Hospital. Department for non conventional treatment. Acupuncture.
Patients: mostly athletes with sports injuries and few truck drivers. All but one person have strained back, neck, shoulders.
About a dozen people in one room, lying on beds like hedgehogs with multiple needles sticked into their backs and shoulders.
Doctor leaves the room and does not return within 10 minutes. Within next 20 minutes folks start to worry. Nobody moves as if you move - muscles contract and it could be quite painful. In 30 minutes somebody asks: hey, who can move? The guy with needles in his arm and shoulder removes all his needles and then removes needles from everybody else.
P.S. Doctor had an emergency and had to leave premises immediately, and returned a bit later. She was only one specialist over there.
