Note the PS at the bottom of the post. Obviously this was also happening the day before and has passed quietly with no mention in media.

$10 is not a lot in comparison to the official doctors anti vaccine group who charge $100 per exemption, so the target is those that have little money.

You might be reassured to know that the medical council is investigating those Doctors and my understanding is one has already been stripped of his registration.

Bung: There are probably so few people genuinely qualifying for exemptions they could be subject to approval rather than handed out by GPs. As an example if you lose your driving licence because of a medical condition any reinstatement goes to the NZTA's medical expert for review.

There are under 200 people in NZ who genuinely would qualify for an exemption on medical grounds, to the point the places my wife (a doctor) works, have all categorically stated they will not provide them at all.

If you call those places, and ask for one you will simply be told you can't get one.

It also doesn't exclude you from workplace requirements.

[EDIT - clarifications]

Not quite true.  I have a family member with GBS and MCAS, both of which preclude them from having any vaccination, including COVID, and this has been reiterated by our GP and an immunologist.

I have also spoken to our GP and to the MoH about exceptions and the vaccine certificates, the later who says the process is still being worked through (they where very helpful BTW).  The MoH also said the process will be driven through GP's however as it's all new, so I this may change.

People can and do have allergic reactions to the Pfizer vaccination, last time we where in hospital there was someone else in ED suffering an anaphylactic attack from the Pfizer vaccination, and the staff said it was the first they had seen.

So yes, very rare, but it does happen.  And there does need to be a process to allow these people to be included in society otherwise it will become very "us and them" and also risks coming up against the Bill of Rights and not discriminating on people based on their health status.

I'm surprised the Newbury Hall are happy to lease to a bunch of idiot pro-plague'ers.

I've sent a message to the hall supervisor & Manawatu council.

We've been told multiple times by people incl Bloomfield that the number of people who would be legitimately exempt from Pfizer would be less than 100.

I find this on the low side as I personally know two people (who both have incredibly complex health issues) who have been advised by their specialists and doctors not to have the vaccine at present - in both cases it's not just one of their doctors or specialists simply saying they shouldn't, it's them really wanting to be vaccinated but the experts looking after them consulting and advising them that known risks are a problem at present.

Exactly this! As I posted above I have a family member in the same situation, they WANT to get the vaccination (and they find it very very tough with the constant messaging but being unable to) and they rest of the family is double vaxxed, but multiple people have said the risk is too  high (as in it can kill them).

Sure, the percentage of the population maybe small, but I don't see how its only les than 100 either.

My first covid vaccine shot was delayed a month while my specialists sought advice. They eventually decided that I could receive the vaccine only on the condition that I stayed at the surgery for at least an hour and when I went home I could not be home alone for a week and further advised that as we live only a couple of minutes from the hospital was a further tick in the box for getting the vaccine.Thankfully all was OK and I have received my second and awaiting my booster shot.

I cannot have live vaccines (Covid 19 vaccine is not a live vaccine)

Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.

That figure was the number of people that would have problems with the components in the vaccine. Apparently, the components that people could react to are in many common products, so the reactivity should already be well known for those people.
I understood that they estimated around 100 people nationwide may fall into that category - its very rare.

If someone has auto immune or other systemic problems, that is another group altogether. But it shouldn't be osteopaths, crystal waving wierdos and accupuncturists advising them..... They need proper specialist advice.

That's a very important item to note - medical science is dealing with a new way of making vaccines with mRNA, and as there is no literature or studies around mRNA and adverse reactions, the consensus of medical professionals will be to advise against having it until proved otherwise.

COVID has caused a normally decades long process to be condenses into a couple of years and it will take time to sort out this issues and how mRNA affects people with complex conditions (or not, as the case may be).

I suppose you have to run with the advice of your doctors. That's not to say there aren't other doctors who will say the danger of covid is worse than the very low risk of an mrna vaccine. Apparently vaccines based on weakened virus are the problem.

I really feel for those who genuinely can't take the vaccine. The increasingly extreme anti-social behaviour of anti-vaxxers seems to be creating an environment where anyone who can't be vaccinated are at risk of threats and abuse.

It’s being plugged by one of the crazy freedom groups as well

really disappointing

@chevrolux any chance you could message the details of the Newbury hall contacts? So others can express their concern as well?

Oh paying to get a false certificate. Wonderful. Grifters gonna grift.

Reminds me of this nonsense about 10 years ago. Still blows me away people fall for this drivel.

Messaged MDC about this as well, immediately received a reply stating they will forward this on to the appropriate team.

Surely any official exemptions will ultimately be loaded into the same framework / app as the vaccine certificates. i.e. instead of somewhere scanning it and confirming you're vaxxed, it scans and confirms you have an official exemption ... i.e. bits of paper will become largely meaningless? Maybe?
