GV27:

We're talking about the advice that goes to Cabinet specifically. That they've relied on for the whole pandemic up until this point.

The government has also been less cautious than the health advice at times. The health advice is just that- advice. The decisions were, and always will be, political decisions.

The ones that limit rights such as freedom of movement when they go against the medical advice given warrant further discussion for fairly obvious reasons - however that is probably getting into politics-thread area levels of discussion.

I see we have another Anti-Vax doctor giving out exemptions and being quite transparent in doing so.

That was a fun story in a walk of shame kind of way. I hope she enjoys being struck off, her doctoring days are done.

The number of people calling her a hero on Facebook and praising her for standing up to "the system" or "the Government" is quite astonishing.

I hate to sound like an a-hole but I sometimes wish these clowns would actually catch coronavirus for themselves and see how horrible it really is. Maybe - only then - they might sing a different tune. They don't realise how good we have it here (as in low number of cases and even lower number of deaths).

Im out that way. Community pages rife with it.
Making the last remaining ones still clinging on to some of the theories about being untested/not real/ bad for you look silly given the percentage swing now.
As is all those 'i know someone' bad reaction being covered up people.

'Experimental' was my favourite. Any vaccine that hasn't gone through literal years of testing is going to be 'experimental'. Like, really, it hasn't had seven years of testing? A vaccine developed for a pandemic that unfolded in 2020? I mean... come on.

I get so depressed seeing all the misinformation and bs on the likes of Facebook, it almost feels like playing whack-a-mole. If you report something to Facebook (or does that go to the administrator of the community page?) either Facebook does nothing, (in rare instances) takes it down, or, puts the person in Facebook jail. Even if they take down the post and put the user in jail, there's another moron spreading misinformation within 5 minutes. Depressing :(

Interesting to note that the last three lobby releases have resulted in no one left in the queue - everyone who wanted a room, got one.

Guess it isn't such a lottery after all.

And no comment on that in the media as far as I can see

@quickymart I recommend taking a step back and a deep breath mate.  It’s really easy to get riled and finding yourself getting frustrated and agitated, and it’s not good for your mental health.

Keep in mind that the vast majority of folk are sensible and overall we’re heading in the right direction.  You’re exposed to the drivel you’re seeing because of Facebook.  It knows you’ve clicked on a ‘controversial’ post so it will feed you more of the same crud.  If it’s specific individuals turn off getting their updates. (If they’re important and need to contact you they’ll have to find another way.)  Even mainstream media are giving too much publicity to anti-vax related articles in my view.  Even though their general stance against anti-vax is right and their message is get vaccinated, they’ll still publish any old sh** to get clicks.

Ignorance is bliss is a positive thing in this case.

Did Eric Clapton really think she looked wonderful...or was it after the 15th outfit she tried on and he just wanted to get to the party and get a drink?

It is normal to wish Covid on these people. We are all going through some version of the five stages of grief (Kubler Ross) the pandemic is an assault on our mental well being hey.

I watched this evolution around the world, where people started to really get angry and depressed about the antivaxx groups. As far as reporting posts goes, sometimes you have a small victory, sometimes you have a big one.

I reported a video on youtube that was made by two American Doctors. It had gone viral. They were in California, they were telling people to not wear masks, no social distancing, and encouraging them to get Covid based off their experiences as emergency physicians, claiming that it is better to let Covid in.

I did a background check. The Doctors in the video owned a Covid testing company, they were profiting off the spread of Covid. I reported them, and I posted in the comments section that they were harming people for profit.

The video was removed within hours.

Maybe my complaint helped, I dunno, but it felt good. I wished Covid on those two individuals, and I still do, like I say, it is healthy to feel your feelings and not suppress them or deny them. It is normal to talk to other people about it too.

A lot of good people have a lot of negative feelings right now. And this is very normal, even healthy,

Just keep swimming...
