While the official COVID response could have been handled better, how many deaths would have been acceptable to those who espoused what is tantamount to a "herd immunity" approach?

"I regret to say that we of the F.B.I. are powerless to act in cases of oral-genital intimacy, unless it has in some way obstructed interstate commerce." — J. Edgar Hoover

"Create a society that values material things above all else. Strip it of industry. Raise taxes for the poor and reduce them for the rich and for corporations. Prop up failed financial institutions with public money. Ask for more tax, while vastly reducing public services. Put adverts everywhere, regardless of people's ability to afford the things they advertise. Allow the cost of food and housing to eclipse people's ability to pay for them. Light blue touch paper." — Andrew Maxwell

https://poops.nz has updated and looks like we're having another big wave again..

A few coworkers have gotten it along with acquittances, so keep masking on PT/indoors etc. There's also an updated booster that's been available since the start of March and 30+'s can still get it every six months

NZ had limited options but to lock down and eliminate, due to the poor state of the health system and the way it is designed to work at peak capacity all the time. The thing is the government can try an blame the government at the time, but they not only supported it at the time, but also have done nothing to improve the health system since, to prevent the same thing occuring.

I haven't had a booster in a while, it might be a good time to do it.

Just had this year's new one - as usual, zero side effects apart from boredom from having to sit and scroll reddit for 15 minutes.

My GP clinic tends to do a drive-through vax centre when Flu vax starts so I go and get both Flu and Covid done at the same time, usually from 1 April it starts

Perhaps we owe the Covid conspiracy theorists among us an apology.

I wonder how many payouts were to quieten down the real nutters, to just shut them up, and get the disinformation out of the current Internet culture.
