Imho they will not ship a bad product so it could be a good prerelease deal on that. Chances are it will be a high price luxury product. The risk is a) they will not ship for a long time in development while seeking more funding from other sources and b) they will not ship at all ever.

Funniest comments i recall from reddit:

'I'm not buying a shaver from a bunch of guys with beards'

How about designing it like one of those 360 dental x ray devices?

Place your chin on the rest, the laser moves around the face (eye shields built in) and then back - sort of like laser scanning a 3D object - and you're ready to get on with your day...

Have you tried using a double edged razor with a very sharp blade? That, combined with using a good quality shaving soap solved the skin rash problem for me. The sharp blade causes less irritation because it cuts the hair easily and the soap allows the blade to slide over the skin. If I go back to using foam in a can then the rash comes back.

Quite literally one of the most sensible inventions I have seen in a while. But using batteries for the power source, although portable and convenient, ads a different waste component to the argument. Creating less waste whilst delivering high quality products is a great idea. Removing waste altogether (plugged in) would be even better.

Back to regular shavers. There is a ridiculous shaver here which you can buy now.... if you have the money. lol

Yea rechargeable batteries are OK. I have used pretty decent rechargeable batteries on my old camera, and they do not last very well compared to buying high end long lasting batteries. I would have at a guess this single AAA battery would also need to be of high grade for this purpose.

I am excited to see how this develops. Still waiting for the walk through clean/dry/shave/dress closet like in the jetsons!
